Never forget.

Labour are changing this process to eliminate the two year wait and yes the person granting the certificate could be a GP. YOU wake up

And could even be one of those Online GPs. That have set themselves up after the GIDS was closed down.

Alot of people who have friends in the Labour Party are going to do very well out of this.

The likelihood of you coming across a transgender female in a “female space” is virtually 0.

I am capable of thinking beyond myself though. I am unlikely to end up in prison (fingers crossed). However the idea of women incarcerated with men is something that is wrong on every level and I could never condone that. These women tend not to have much of a voice in society and they need others to stand up for them.

Yet you don't care about other women who don't have a voice. Victims of rape who can't get justice in courts, women working full time being forced to use foodbanks, women who can't get a refuge space, women who can't access mental health services, women who can't get essential treatment, women forced into sex work because they're in absolute poverty, women who are carers and have no support.

Their voices don't count.

Of course. Helen Webberley will be dishing them out like sweeties - side hustle for her trade in puberty blockers

Your voice does count.

But if people think you are wrong then so does theirs.

That's what a discussion board is.

No they're not. Check out the manifesto, it's very clear. I just explained to you what the process will be under Labour.

You're just making stuff up to suit your agenda.

I feel they have. The 30 hours of childcare has done wonders to help women back into work. The legislation they are now pushing through to protect single sex spaces will keep us safer.

I am sorry but Labour do not recognise us at all, so I am not sure how that helps anyone!

Harrumphhhh · 04/07/2024 09:18

wevegotarightonehere · 04/07/2024 09:14

Labour always promise so much, yet deliver so little. Which is why they're rarely in power for long.

If you're young though, I completely get why Labour would appeal to you.

This is one of the most patronising statements I’ve ever read. Do you not know many young people?

(and no, I definitely don’t identify as young)

This is true.

But Labour are proposing to make the process of getting a GRC easier than it is now. And this is a big concern.

Why is it a big concern? It's illegal to ask for a GRC and you don't have to prove you've got one. Only about 2 percent of Trans people bother, many used it to marry due to previous restrictions.

Well yes, creating a situation where they're very easy to get and people are unsure of the legal ramifications of asking for them is going to make it really difficult for women to stand up for the boundaries they need - don't you agree?

Please do tell us what the answer is.

No party is the answer. But a large labour majority will send us down the shitter.

Shennie100 · 04/07/2024 09:44

Already voted Reform. They seem to be the only people who know what a woman is.
It's a very low bar!

IfImOnFire · 04/07/2024 09:45

I am not sure we have forgotten the last time they crashed the economy, many of us are still paying the price.

Ha @Hummingbird75 - maybe some of us are remembering the more recent occasion of the Tories crashing the economy! My mortgage payment every month won't let me forget Truss, much as I'd like to.

Whatafustercluck · 04/07/2024 09:45

Andthereitis · 04/07/2024 08:50

We'll see what Labour plans to do to solve these problems. They sure as shit haven't told us in their manifesto beyond they're growing the economy.

What that looks like is anyone's guess.i don't think they know.

You can't invest in public services with a weak economy. They have no money, so they're doing right by being cautious and not promising things they have no means of delivering. They're eyeing up a two-term government, with the first term focused on recovering the economy, and in the longer term being able to fix all the things that are wrong with the UK today. It's a perfectly sensible, and achievable, plan.

Ah you've fell for the spin.

What steps and actions are they going to take to grow the economy?

Please be more specific about why a large Labour majority will, to quote your delightful turn of phrase, ‘send us down the shitter’.

The original OP states some of the bad things which the current conservative government have done. Specifically in what ways will a labour government be worse in your opinion?

Your mortgage would have gone up with or without Truss! It was the BoE easing off printing money then combined with an unexpected war in Ukraine, and the interest rates soaring. Seriously. You are giving this woman too much credit. This was all expected long before Truss came to power.

I've already explained that they won't be easy to get. It will still take years, you still need a diagnosis and you still need to see a specialist.

Men are invading women's spaces because of the insidious rise of Trans ideology. There needs to be clarification on what the Equality Act means for women's spaces. Starmer has said that Labour will support biological women only in women's spaces. That's more than the Tories ever did.

In the meantime, given the current state of women's lives under the Tories, it's madness to vote them back in for more. Some of us actually care about women's lives and how they've been affected during 14 years of this government.

The Tories haven't stuck up for women during their time in government and they'll quickly forget any promises they've made. That's evident given their history. Meanwhile you're working for free campaigning for votes for them.

Labour will crash the economy
It will cause a huge recession when people decide it is not worth working anymore due to the huge tax raids.
Capital flight
Investors running for the hills and our debt burden spiralling
No viable Labour plan to grow the economy

I can go on.....

Not unlike the last time Labour were in power come to think of it.

Labour are massively pro trans
Massively anti women

Everyone knows that on here, but you it seems, you are in denial.

Her budget was an absolute, unmitigated disaster from which we are all still feeling the shock waves. The Tories are not a party that can be trusted with the economy. From austerity to Trussonomics, they are a catastrophe.
