I mean, they're fucked aren't they

Now that Trump isn't getting prosecuted after today for the January 6th atrocities

And Biden 🤦‍♀️ - they might replace him

It's so awful - so terribly polarised

I think it's a real possibility

OP you are delusional and you believe complete and utter bullshit without checking any of the facts.

This. I've never heard such bollocks.

But he was elected 🙄 whether he should be President is probably not even debatable at this point, it’s shocking he hasn’t stood down.

but he was certainly voted in.

My point was that he is clearly not fit to run the country so someone else is making the decisions.

Dymaxion · 01/07/2024 22:01

But very few single Presidents/Prime ministers etc make all the decisions do they ? Most have an army of people in the wings finding out information, basically making the decision on behalf of the head honcho ? It isn't like you have single person, who is madly googling everything on their own, to make a decision is it ? Delegation is a huge part of government ?

I reckon there are about 3 genuine posters on here including the OP and the rest are bots.

There’s definitely something going on, it’s that or maga has taken over MN

So if Biden is a dementia riddled idiot how come the economy is performing better under him than it did during Trump's term?

Yes, Biden does need to step down and endorse the most likely candidate (Newsome?) to beat the orange turd but hey, look on the bright side - the supreme court today gave him carte blanche to have Trump assassinated.

We've already had four years of Trump and the world didn't end. Relax.

What’s his opinion on climate change ?

fungipie · 01/07/2024 22:23

It's going to be very bad in France!

TempestTost · 01/07/2024 22:24

No, I don't think there I'll be a civil war. At least not in the foreseeable future.

There is civil unrest in the US now, there are whole cities or sections of cities that have had a breakdown of public order. That's mainly on their (Democrat) civic political leaders though I won't say the state and national governments are blameless. Whether a Trump administration will effectively address that, I am not sure. Maybe.

Appalonia · 01/07/2024 22:26

Sometimes I think they've reached the point of needing Partition ( like India did ) as they seem SO polarised. There's just no middle ground anymore, I don't know how they can continue to be the UNITED States of America as they're anything but...

CaveMum · 01/07/2024 22:30

People should read up on Project 2025 which many right-wing Republicans are pushing as a template for a second Trump presidency. He is just about stupid enough to try and follow it!

“No, it doesn’t kill me because he knows he’s an illegitimate president,” she said. “I believe he understands that the many varying tactics they used, from voter suppression and voter purging to hacking to the false stories — he knows that — there were just a bunch of different reasons why the election turned out like it did.”

You mean like this?

Yeah, the undermining of electoral results absolutely did not start with Trump.

How HRC and others have not understood that this kind of rhetoric will have fall-out I don't know.

Half of the US voted for Trump.

Why would you find it odd to find people that are to some extent support him on a message board? Or are skeptical of his opposition?

I really think the UK media, and a lot of the US media, does people a disservice by not reporting on Trump in a more balanced way.

CranfordScones · 01/07/2024 22:41

No. While everyone is being distracted by the headlines it's always good to keep an eye on the trendlines.

What's really happening is that America is defeating itself economically, not by societal unrest. The American Dream is slowly being undone by the amount of debt being piled up by the government. To a smaller extent, it's happening here too. Have you noticed how our ports, airports and utility companies are falling in to the hands of foreign investors? It's not unrelated. Enjoy all the cheap stuff from Schein while it lasts.

Dymaxion · 01/07/2024 22:43

I think that large sections of the UK media do report on Trump in a factual way. We have a longstanding tradition in the UK of taking the absolute piss out of anyone who sticks their head above the parapet and stands for public office, regardless of which side of the political divide they come from. Long may it continue !

You’re late to the party I’ve already been quoting it.

Here’s a good bit surrounding education… for those who don’t know Title XI is the law that gives girls educational rights:

Nondiscrimination on the Basis of Sex in Education Programs or Activities Receiving Federal Financial Assistance (Title IX)
With its Notice of Proposed Rulemaking published on July 12, 2022, the Biden Education Department seeks to gut the hard-earned rights of women with its changes to the department’s regulations implementing Title IX, which prohibits

2025 Presidential Transition Project
discrimination on the basis of sex in educational programs and activities. Instead, the Biden Administration has sought to trample women’s and girls’ athletic opportunities and due process on campus, threaten free speech and religious liberty, and
erode parental rights in elementary and secondary education regarding sensitive
issues of sex. The new Administration should take the following steps:

Work with Congress to use the earliest available legislative vehicle to prohibit the department from using any appropriations or from otherwise enforcing any final regulations under Title IX promulgated by the department during the prior Administration.

Commence a new agency rulemaking process to rescind the current Administration’s Title [IX regulations; restore the Title IX regulations promulgated by then-Secretary Betsy DeVos on May 19, 2020; and define “sex” under Title IX to mean only biological sex recognized at birth.

Work with Congress to amend Title IX to include due process requirements; define “sex” under Title IX to mean only biological sex recognized at birth; and strengthen protections for faith-based educational institutions, programs, and activities

The next Administration should move quickly to restore the rights
of women and girls and restore due process protections for accused individuals.
At the same time, there is no scientific or legal basis for redefining “sex” to “sexual orientation and gender identity” in Title IX. Such a change misrepresents the U.S. Supreme Court’s opinion in Bostock, threatens the American system of federalism, removes important due process protections for students in higher education, and puts girls and women in danger of physical harm. Facilitating social gender transition without parental consent increases the likelihood that children will seek hormone treatments, such as puberty blockers, which are experimental medical interventions. Research has not demonstrated positive effects and longterm outcomes of these treatments, and the unintended side effects are still not fully understood.

I don't think a cognitively impaired POTUS is OK when he is Commander in Chief. There are some jobs which it's just not possible to delegate.

So you don't think that the POTUS takes advice from anyone else ? From the leaders of the armed services etc ? They are just sitting there googling 'codes for the biggly weapons' ?

Do you think that someone who may not have the cognitive ability to legally sign a phone contract should have the nuclear codes?

The current administration is the definition of a shadow government… how democratic is that 🤣

It already did. Love smoking it.

Give some to Trump I say.

not funny, I know

taking advice is not the same as being completely unable to figure where one is standing.

At least Biden would ASK someone. he follows rules and processes. Not just decide to hand them over to his mate Putin in a bathroom. I know who I would trust more with nuclear codes.
