He doesn't GAF at all. Shows in his body language too.

SparksFlyUpward · 03/07/2024 13:14

Yes, his casual language and attitude feels so disrespectful. He's referred very dismissively to the Second Sight forensic accountants who he met personally as 'these guys' more than once.

This is worth a look

Is there supposed to be a link in your post? There seems to be a glitch in the latest not improved Hmm app that means that links don't always appear for those using the app Sad

HomelessAngua · 03/07/2024 13:49

Post Office Scandal website (postofficescandal.uk) and Glitch: a play about Pam Stubbs and the Post Office Scandal

He resents the suggestion that he wasn't spending enough time, one and a half days a week, on PO and wants to tell us now what makes an effective chair. It's about relationships apparently.

And then dropped that to two days a month….

DanielGault · 03/07/2024 14:07

Why does he find it all so jolly? Where did they find these people!?!

SparksFlyUpward · 03/07/2024 14:07

I think by relationships TP means trusting the in house lawyers. I'd like Mr Beer to respond 'It would be unkind of me to ask how that's worked out for you '. (Copyright of the magnificent Mr Ben Cooper KC).

Lunde · 03/07/2024 14:17

He reminds me of a dodgy used car salesman - superficially friendly, great bullshitter ... but very vague on specifics

DanielGault · 03/07/2024 14:21

Hindsight is a wonderful thing 😂

Lunde · 03/07/2024 14:29

Gosh he sounds like Sir Humphrey - that meeting minutes should reflect what, in hindsight, you wish you had said 😂

nauticant · 03/07/2024 14:56

I am actually minded to believe his core position: that there were machinations going on that he wasn't aware of, working to hidden agendas, and when the cabal would agree on their goals, they'd be packaged up as something else and presented to him, and he would (largely) cluelessly do what they'd set him to do.

But what an indictment of him and of Post Office.

OP posts:
Lunde · 03/07/2024 14:59

He doesn't seem like a "details" man - more someone who drifts into meetings and gives a good corporate bullshit speech and then drifts out

nauticant · 03/07/2024 14:59

What this makes very clear though is why General Counsel Jane MacLeod is taking advantage of being in a jurisdiction beyond the reach of the Inquiry to not be held to account.

I'm behind in my viewing but TP's just said that they ought to have found out how often judges are recused, because they might have gone about things differently.

Well, durr. It's an incredibly risky move to make and as we've seen, it was being orchestrated by the top of the pile lawyers because they were playing some game of their own, which they used Post Office and its money to engage in.

I'm amazed by people like TP.

DanielGault · 03/07/2024 15:20

Complete lack of self awareness.

nauticant · 03/07/2024 15:41

Mr Henry being more measured in his questioning and it's hit after hit. However, TP isn't being unbalanced by this because he doesn't give a shit.

Lunde · 03/07/2024 15:42

TP - it all got very adversarial - gee I wonder why that was? 🙄🙄

Lunde · 03/07/2024 15:46

TP - I thought about making a public apology - but then I said nah and decided not to bother

Tablefor4 · 03/07/2024 16:01

"I don't remember, it was a long time ago" - everybody drink 🙄

nauticant · 03/07/2024 16:03

He's returned to his proposition that making the subpostmasters go through the GLO was somehow him and Post Office doing them a favour by getting them to a point where things can be made good. This is one of the worst lines I've heard in any of the evidence.

OP posts:
nauticant · 03/07/2024 16:05

The lie of this was revealed earlier when TP was asked why, in that case, he'd gone down the recusal route when that would have destroyed the subpostmasters' civil litigation.

Incredible…..

Lunde · 03/07/2024 16:06

Good grief - he's losing the plot now

nauticant · 03/07/2024 16:36

It's very clear that he's utterly sick of this now and wants it to end. He's getting grumpy and obstructive.

OP posts:
Lunde · 03/07/2024 16:42

He gets very irritated when pressed for something beyond his corporate bullshit response
