Jenkins seems to struggle with empathy. If proceedings are taken against him his solicitors should get a psych report.

He does seem extremely tunnel visioned. Becomes quite animated though when talking about systems.

Having watched him for several days GJ seems to have many ASD traits. He seems a fountain of technical knowledge on the narrow subject of his bit of the system but unable to think in terms of wider context. May also explain why he spent almost 50 years in the same company without having any managerial role.

Olgipolgi · 28/06/2024 11:32

I think these characteristics were mercilessly exploited by Fugitsu and PO and their lawyers.

I mean he was the perfect patsy for for the backstabbers at the PO/Fujitsu them. Tunnel vision, didn't ask awkward questions, happy to let the lawyers steer his evidence ... and easily pleased with titles - "Distinguished Engineer", "Professor", "Doctor", and "Expert Witness".

DanielGault · 28/06/2024 11:50

I can't believe he didn't Google that!?!

Yes - i was thinking exactly this. He doesnt seem to see the big picture at all but there seems to be a lot of people like this.

Olgipolgi · 28/06/2024 11:56

Can’t wait for Mr Maloney

I know a number of people like this, who don’t move on because they don’t want to leave their area of expertise/enthusiasm behind. Nothing wrong with that - I’d be the same - but I think it does say something with GJ and his abilities, or not, to relate to others.

On the flip side I’m sure we all know people who’ve risen to management level and are utterly unable to deal effectively with the personal relationships required. As demonstrated in this Inquiry too.

Can’t wait for Mr Maloney

Why? Is he particularly impressive?

Quirkyme · 28/06/2024 12:01

I am so gutted I'm going to miss Mr Maloney's sexy ass voice because I have to pop out soon.

Sigh.

Olgipolgi · 28/06/2024 12:03

He has a very informal and friendly manner which is deceptive. I could watch him for hours.

This was really clear when Mr Stein asked him a "big picture" question about what Fujitsu could have done better. He had no idea how to answer such a wide and undefined question and just waffled. He is clearly a guy who reads and writes code about his narrowly defined part of the system.

He is a man who sees the trees and not the wood!

Also important to remember re-ASD that higher functioning forms of ASD such as Asperger Syndrome etc were not recognized until early-mid 1990s - at that time GJ had already been working in his little corner of the company for around 20 years.

@Olgipolgi luvs Mr Maloney 💖

(Sorry I'm being silly, it's Friday 🤪)

But, he is impressive.

Lunde · 28/06/2024 12:07

Mr Maloney is the silent assassin - he seems very mild but his questions cut to the heart of the matter

Yes, he has a very disarming gentleness, which invites confidences.

And a sledgehammer concealed behind his back.

Lunde · 28/06/2024 12:11

Is the shouty one going to ask questions today?

Quirkyme · 28/06/2024 12:11

Pleased I'm not missing as much of his voice as I thought. Hehe ohhhh yesssssss

I love him.

Do you mean Mr Henry?
If so I dont think so, Ms Page asked the questions instead.

minou123 · 28/06/2024 11:18

This is Mr Stein KC from Howe & Co.

He is normally a lot tougher on witnesses, but so far he is treating GJ with kid gloves.

I'm still trying to work out who the guy is sat next to Mr Stein. He has never spoken, bit he has been next to Mr Stein everday. I think he may be a SPMR but I'm not sure.

David Enright, Howe & Co.

Moloney hasn't yet had to drop his voice, metaphorically put his arm round the shoulder of the witness, and say sympathetically, "Tell me all about it".

Lol!!!

minou123 · 28/06/2024 12:34

There it is....there the famous Mr Maloney sledgehammer wrapped in his disarming gentleness.

Bam! Mic drop.

Oblomov24 · 28/06/2024 13:49

Re the Womble lawyers interviewed, he kept saying he wasn't a criminal lawyer and yet emails showed him giving advice on criminal proceedings. For their bill of £38 million!

DanielGault · 28/06/2024 13:56

I still can't hear/see Womble without a mental picture of the Wimbledon Common variety 😂

DanielGault · 28/06/2024 13:57

And getting the bloody song stuck in my head!
