WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

Humid no.

But a bit overcast is nicer than scorching sun.
Especially if there's a breeze, that's perfect.

Thick grey cloud here in Gloucestershire. Not even a peep of sun. But also oppressively humid.

I bloody love the summer - the sight of blue skies really cheers my soul for some inexplicable reason. Thick grey cloud and humid just doesn’t have the same effect, even though it’s not cold.

Ive got two SEN DC so no chance of holidaying abroad. Not had a holiday in over 10 years so I’m DESPERATE for a bit of blue sky sunshine in my back garden! 😂

Pliyo · 24/06/2024 14:25

Boiling in Bristol today.

Oneearringlost · 24/06/2024 14:27

I'm so bloody, bloody cold.
South West here.
I'm miserable. Jumpers, socks and boots.
It's grey, grey and grey.
I'm so cold!

Namechange746498 · 24/06/2024 14:28

Swap?!

In the SE here and it's wall to wall sun with temps between 25 and 27 (feeling like 30) for the next four or five days.

I hate it already and am counting down the days until it goes back down to 20.

(Plus my daughter is autistic and has sensory processing disorder and absolutely cannot deal with the heat, particularly at bedtime - causes two hour meltdowns).

Thanks very much. You're a beacon on light in this mean and rather dense thread!

No one is being mean- apart from yourself, who called someone pathetic! Hopefully you do get some sun and it makes you more pleasant.

Jxx · 24/06/2024 14:29

Where do you live, I’m in the North West and it’s glorious today! 24c x

Dodie66 · 24/06/2024 14:30

It’s been cloudy most of the day here and still cloudy now but it’s nearly 28 degrees and humid. North Hampshire

Pertinentowl · 24/06/2024 14:31

I also want to scream at the weather but it’s 50C in my country

CustardySergeant · 24/06/2024 14:37

Disturbia81 · 24/06/2024 13:58

I've just got myself a portable fan 8.99 on Amazon and it's making Yorkshire a much more pleasant experience today!

Lidl are selling rechargeable portable fans for £7.99 at the moment. My husband's just been and bought two of them. They've got various other fans at higher prices too if anyone's interested.

I'm in East Sussex and it's very hot here so am so pleased to have fans.

50 degrees? That is a serious health emergency.

Ohhmydays · 24/06/2024 14:38

Weegieunicorn · 24/06/2024 12:19

You don't say what country you live in to give perspective. Sunny and hot in Scotland :)

Not all Scotland lol where i am it is warmish but its so grey out. Started out sunny then got to about 11 and the sky has just turned. Was spitting slightly but never came to much

Upinthenightagain · 24/06/2024 14:40

We’ve finally got sun and we’re a house of Covid. You couldn’t make it up

inthelight44 · 24/06/2024 14:41

I’m also in Glasgow and losing the will to live!!! Such an awful summer even by Glaswegian standards. None of my plants have grown, the garden looks crap, and I’m wearing LEGGINGS IN JUNE 😭.

Treesinmygarden · 24/06/2024 14:41

JacquesHarlow · 24/06/2024 12:31

I am really sorry but that's like saying "Where's the sun?" in Reykjavik...

Just don't understand posts like these..

Oh come on, even Glasgow should be getting some decent sun in June!!

It's shite here too in NI. Sick of it. And I am not even getting to go away this year. Really pissed off!

HouseofHills · 24/06/2024 14:42

26 degrees and bright sunshine in Manchester today and was warm and sunny all week last week too! Sorry it’s not been good where you are OP!

PiranhaPeaches · 24/06/2024 14:45

Oneearringlost · 24/06/2024 14:27

I'm so bloody, bloody cold.
South West here.
I'm miserable. Jumpers, socks and boots.
It's grey, grey and grey.
I'm so cold!

It's 18 - 21 degrees today, based on a number of places I looked at in the south west from Cornwall to Dorset.

If you are "bloody bloody cold" at those temperatures you need to see a doctor.

Edit: the south west is under a heat alert from now until Thursday. Cold my arse.

IWantToBeASleepingCat · 24/06/2024 14:46

I had to go put this morning.. gosh it's red hot .I'm now laid here with fan on.
Yorkshire.

Where are you? That's frightening

RebelMoon · 24/06/2024 14:49

Misty, grey, windy and rainy here today in the Hebrides. But as I often say, I'd rather be here in the rain than in a city/town in the sunshine.

Pertinentowl · 24/06/2024 14:49

Alondra · 24/06/2024 14:38

50 degrees? That is a serious health emergency.

Always is. Thats what it’s like living in the Middle East. All the expats have travelled although schools aren’t finished yet. I hate seeing people outside even though it’s 5pm now and much better. And I’m constantly accusing people of dehydration

ohsighh · 24/06/2024 14:50

socks1107 · 24/06/2024 12:18

Where are you?
It is glorious in the south east/London area

I am from a sunny country, living in London now, and it makes me genuinely sad to hear this cold limp grey weather be described as glorious. I will just have to get used to it won't I. 😢

Treesinmygarden · 24/06/2024 14:51

TuesdayWhistler · 24/06/2024 13:14

OP you're expending a lot of energy to tell everyone how miserable you are living where you live.

Use that energy on Rightmove.

Devon, Cornwall, Milton Keynes.
Tons of gorgeous places to live.

How the hell can someone just up sticks and move their whole life for the sake of the weather?!

FGS be realistic!

Julianne65 · 24/06/2024 14:52

Thought this was going to be a rant about the heat! It’s baking in London. I’m going out of my mind!

Nellieinthebarn · 24/06/2024 14:53

West Gloucestershire is dull and grey, not very warm. But thats fine, means I can sleep ok, and don't have to get up at sparrows fart to walk the dog before it gets too hot.

Greenlittecat · 24/06/2024 14:53

Aw man, i feel you OP I'm sorry ❤️ its like the lockdown threads where someone would say it's rubbish not having a garden and everyone would chime in saying how brilliant theirs is!

Moan away and sending you some sun xxx
