WHERE is the sun?!! It is ludicrous, I don't remember a June like this for years and I keep depressing myself with the fucking BBC weather app. They promised sunshine and warmth and now they are saying rain, rain, rain. How on earth is anyone supposed to cope? I am going to Barcelona in a few weeks, and I am counting the seconds. AARGH!

Surely this is a joke post? Its hot and its been hot presuming youre UK based (I think most here are)

Why would it be a joke post

It's not a joke ffs! What makes you think that?! It's dull and overcast in NI too and I am heartsick of it! Temp supposedly 23/24 but not one single ray of sunshine!

You don't say what country you live in to give perspective. Sunny and hot in Scotland :)

Ehh where because I'm in Scotland (just outside Glasgow) and it isn't sunny here at all 🤣 It's cloudy and muggy and was drizzling a bit earlier.

Tomatina · 24/06/2024 14:56

Grey here in south west. On the plus side, it's reasonably warm and not raining. We had two glorious hot sunny days last week and everyone thought summer had finally arrived. Then on Friday it rained again. It seems to just be the south east having this 'heatwave', as usual. Envious!

crumblingschools · 24/06/2024 14:56

Waiting for the heat wave here, just grey cloud at the moment. Opposite end to the country to OP

That always makes me laugh when somebody says, 'well, I've had loads of likes/thanks on my post, so I'm obviously right - and you're wrong.' 😆

The thing is, these people who claim to have multiple dozens of likes (and some people do claim to have 30-40,) never do a screen print to prove it.

Anyway, I'm sorry you've got rubbish weather. I did see on the news just a few minutes ago that I recorded at lunchtime that it's supposed to be nice all over the country from tomorrow. So fingers crossed for you, Ms Lux Lisbon. 😍

Ah @NeverEnoughPants if you look at the OP on other threads you will find she likes to dish it out but can’t stand being disagreed with. Threads about the weather are silly we have no control over it.

Yet here you are posting on a silly thread...!

Non stop sun here- it’s too hot!

Februaryfeels · 24/06/2024 15:01

I hear you OP. Yesterday we didn't have rain. That made it a good day.

It's about 22 degrees here in Perthshire but overcast.

The weather is so depressing

I hope we get some sunshine soon

Nooooooooo don't say that! We don't want the sun to go. We want it to stay! 😆

BlowDryRat · 24/06/2024 15:02

I was in Glasgow all weekend. It was lovely!

Elphame · 24/06/2024 15:02

Second day of unremitting grey skies here too.

I am so over this.

Treesinmygarden · 24/06/2024 14:51

How the hell can someone just up sticks and move their whole life for the sake of the weather?!

FGS be realistic!

People move for better weather all of the time.

People.move to Florida... For the weather..
To Devon.. for the weather..
To Skegness.. for the chips.

It's hardly rare.

Unless you're being unrealistic..

I'm just outside Glasgow and totally get it. It even had the audacity to start drizzling earlier when I was optimistically hanging my washing out!

And everyone and their "Well Glasgow/Scotland always has shit weather" should really go get a life. And maybe educate themselves.

Miyagi99 · 24/06/2024 15:06

Too hot here in the northwest.

I'm in my fucking 60s, I have family, friends, a home and a job here. I'm hardly in a position to move to bloody Florida!!

ErrolTheDragon · 24/06/2024 15:07

People move for better weather all of the time.

Probably a very small minority have that luxury. Glibly advising people to move is what's unrealistic. (Crops up so often re schools, housing etc etc.)

Come to Suffolk 😀 we have blue skies and its 23c! It's meant to be like this all week ...absolutely beautiful!

I would love to go to Suffolk. It is the most beautiful county, come rain, shine, hail or rainbows.

Invent · 24/06/2024 15:08

Dodie66 · 24/06/2024 14:30

It’s been cloudy most of the day here and still cloudy now but it’s nearly 28 degrees and humid. North Hampshire

Agreed in South Hampshire. Every hour or so theres a break in the clouds and I rush out to the sun lounger only to find it goes in again and its back to dark grey.

I'm cross. and we've had the longest day so in the back of my mind we have shorter nights ( really noticeable by the end of August).

JFDIYOLO · 24/06/2024 15:10

It's boiling. I am sat on a bus with my legs sticking together and a headache from the glare.

Lidlisthebusiness · 24/06/2024 15:13

Cornwall is rubbish. Overcast, bit of a chill, rain on and off. Depressing.

arghhhhthatisall · 24/06/2024 15:16

I too am near Glasgow and that rain this morning was horrendous. The long forecast isn't looking great either. Terrible.

SoundTheSirens · 24/06/2024 15:19

PiranhaPeaches · 24/06/2024 14:45

It's 18 - 21 degrees today, based on a number of places I looked at in the south west from Cornwall to Dorset.

If you are "bloody bloody cold" at those temperatures you need to see a doctor.

Edit: the south west is under a heat alert from now until Thursday. Cold my arse.

Edited

I know it's a mind-blowing concept to grasp, given the near-100% accuracy rate of meteorological predictions, but I'm going to let you into a little-known secret...the actual real-life weather doesn't always match the forecast.

Cooper77 · 24/06/2024 15:21

It's hot and sunny in Essex atm. Not a cloud in the sky. I do agree though OP – this June has been awful, and it was the worst spring I can ever remember. I don't think we had a single sunny day throughout the whole of March.

My neighbour recently got back from Greece, and she said it was so unbearably hot that she longed for the rain and cold. I've already had a whinge about the heat today. I disgust even myself. I've spent nine months whinging about the dinge and cloud, and today I'm whinging about the sun and blue sky.🙄

Ventusky is currently tracking the same temperatures live across the same region.

And even if they're not entirely accurate across the region, I doubt PP is sitting in a microclimate localised entirely within her current location which is suffering from near-freezing temperatures. We can be confident that wherever she is the temperature is likely to be in or close to that range. None of which falls into the "bloody bloody cold" category.
