Did anyone enjoy Taylor but felt at 3.5 hours it…. dragged a little?

I admit that i’m not her biggest fan and it was a bit of a fluke that i got a ticket to go with friends.

I enjoy her music and think she’s amazing but a dedicated Swiftie… I am not!

I just felt that it could have been at least thirty mins shorter and would have been more enjoyable. Even amongst the hardened Swifties around us, I sensed a little restlessness.

Anyone else agree?

For the price of the tickets they are charging for gigs now I think at 3hrs for once you are getting your money’s worth.. hats off to her.

Maybe your entering that age bracket where theatre would suit you better.

Theatre isn’t an age-related interest - what are you getting at here?

We were there last night. Couldn't see anyone flagging and there was enough energy to make Wembley shake with the surprise songs. Only Taylor Swift can pull off a 3 hour show like that.

Bruce Springsteen

MrsWeasley · 26/06/2024 16:45

I haven’t been but from my experience I think it’s amazing that she did 3 and a half hours - great for the audience and gives you value for money. I once went to watch Simply Red at Wembley and they did 45 minutes!

Julimia · 26/06/2024 17:51

If itvwas a short concert people would be saying money grabbers a long c one and its drawn out. You just can't win can you? Plenty of swifties will have sung and danced their way thtough the entire 30 + numbers. unaware of the time taken. So yes be unreasonable they don't care.

Welshy85 · 26/06/2024 18:54

I am by no means a big fan, but I went to Cardiff with my 13 year old daughter, she had the night of her life watching her idol! Totally worth my aching feet and bones to see my girl that happy,as others said for the money paid definitely not too long.

TS is an incredible performance but that’s absolute nonsense that only she can pull off a 3 hour show!

There are loads of artists that can and do to this, I saw the Foos last week and they sailed through a 3 hour set as they have done many times before. Bruce Springsteen will do the same at Wembley in July.

Were they good? I’m going tomorrow!

I’m probably not the best person to make that call as they’ve been my favourite band for 20 years and I’ve nearly 30 times but yes! Yes they were brill and I’m never disappointed by their live show.

AgileMentor · 26/06/2024 20:39

In my put YABU because I’m insanely jealous.

I went with my teen DD - I didn’t think it dragged, but thought that maybe the weakest era of her repertoire was in the last section (in my opinion). I thought she should have finished on the upbeat Shake it Off era (can’t remember the album title). That said I really enjoyed it, didn’t think it dragged and my daughter was beside herself with joy. I love Taylor’s strong female ethos and was really glad we had the good fortune to get tickets. We went to Edinburgh and got out and home quickly so that helped too!

Shedbythebins · 26/06/2024 21:11

I went and watched the whole show inc both support acts...fabulous. she is a fantastic role model and great singer song writer....her back catalogue is amazing

personally I felt like I was in an immserve experiance and loved it. I could have done longer but I can see why someone who maybe only knows her popular radio songs would not have had the same experience as someone who knows random album songs from 15 years ago.

Welshmonster · 27/06/2024 00:04

In the uncomfortable seats then it would have been a struggle

You were lucky enough to go to a generationally defining tour and you’re bored?

Generationally defining? 🫣

Devonbabs · 27/06/2024 07:09

I’ve been to a lot of live shows in my time, Irrespective of whether or not she is singing live or there is a band playing it’s very clear there’s a lot of backing tracks playing a heavy part in the show from what I’ve seen.

See that's it isn't it, it's the pass-agg hands behind the face.

Like it or not she's the biggest artist around by a significant margin. I feel like the 'I just don't get it' is the same as what people did when the Beatles were around.

It's the biggest concert ever in Scotland and I'm sure it will be the same elsewhere. That will be remembered. Im delighted to be part of it.

Her influence - again whether u like it or not - is nowhere never comparable to Britney, Megan Trainor etc. This is way, way bigger. It's our version of beatle mania.

Time will tell who is right about her longevity but given eighteen years in she's doing pretty well I don't expect her to disappear anytime soon.

Passive aggressive? Sure.
The biggest concert doesn't mean anything, concerts are getting bigger and more elaborate.
Folk enjoy it, I get it, but it's really not that significant to lots of folk.

TheTwirlyPoos · 27/06/2024 07:41

Butit is that significant to lots of people. And when they say that they get taken the piss out of?

I'm sure lots of people weren't fussed hy the Beatles. And yet that hasn't changed the legacy. So let's see.

TheTwirlyPoos · 27/06/2024 07:56

Read what I actually wrote, that might help.

TheTwirlyPoos · 27/06/2024 08:00

I wonder why people are saying you're coming across as rude?

TheTwirlyPoos · 27/06/2024 08:01

'it's really not that significant to lots of folk'

That's fine. It doesn't have to be. Doesn't change anything though.

OnAndOnAndonAgain · 27/06/2024 08:05

Time person of the year, bloody hell , a pop star apparently has done more to influance the events of the year than anybody else .

I find that absolutely bloody ridiculous
