Starmer, JKR, what's most important to most women?

1000 replies

PupInAPram · 22/06/2024 13:14

In my more than 60 years, decades of being a single working parent, many experiences of being on the bones of my arse, Labour Party policies have made huge beneficial differences in my day-to-day life. Worrying if there is a man in the next toilet or feeling uncomfortable with a trans woman has literally never been on my radar. If I'm making a decision about voting for the politician who can bring about the greatest good for the greatest number, it's Starmer every time. I wish JKR would just pipe down.

Going back to the Ministry of Justice figures, obviously we don't know if men who identify as transwomen are just much more likely to be sex offenders, or if sex offenders pretend to be trans to try to get into women's prisons.

Either way, the evidence is clear that men who identify as transwomen are as dangerous as other men, if not much more.

334bu · 22/06/2024 16:45

So you agree men are the problem not trans women

Trans women are also men.

WallaceinAnderland · 22/06/2024 16:45

Transphobia is the recent most acceptable form of bigotry- just as racism, sexism and homophobia were in the past

I don't want any men in women's single sex spaces and sports. Not white men, black men, asian men, gay men, disabled men, religious men or transgender men. This is not racism, sexism, homophobia or transphobia. Think about instead of just repeating what you hear.

SnakesAndArrows · 22/06/2024 16:35

I expect I would say “Er… I am female, thank you very much” and watch the accuser squirm when she realises.

What do you do when it happens? Because presumably it happens quite a bit if you are as androgynous as you think.

Why do you think you can do that and a trans woman couldn’t? If the accuser in this situation is a pig headed as some of the posters on here they’ll claim you’re lying anyway.

(The logic screams of the people who say “do I look like a terrorist?” when they’re randomly frisked at airport security. The point is you can’t tell who or what someone is by looking. And you can’t make assumptions.)

Yeah that’s not what denying someone’s existence means. You just don’t fully understand the term.

Anyone who tries to redefine the word women to include biological males is denying my existence as they are hijacking the word I use to describe my physical reality.

Bodeganights · 22/06/2024 16:47

SergeantDawkins · 22/06/2024 13:52

😂 they’re not obviously men though. Are you really that silly. You’ve probably come across a trans women in your life and never even known it. Which is the whole point. Trans women aren’t beardy men in dresses they are women.

Alex Drummond and Alex drumonds beard will vehemently disagree with you.
Apparently 'widening the bandwith of what a woman is' includes a beard, a very nice beard.

And ok hes clean shaven but philip/pips bunce is a part time trans woman. We can tell even when hes in female mode that hes a man.

I will tell you why I feel it’s a non issue overall

I see the same usernames who appear on every single topic that mentions anything remotely related to trans.

it’s a tiny circle of the same women going on and on making it seem like it’s a bigger issue than it is.

whisper “JKR” in a mirror three times and one of them will pop up to tell call you handmaiden. It’s so predictable and boring.

This is a bit silly tbh I could say the same about the usernames that appear on threads to tell us it’s not important

And if you look outside mn you’ll see it’s headlining on various outlets and radio

I see a lot of pro Labour reasoning from those few but are you ok with men in sports and refuges?

Also not what it means. 👏🏻👏🏻

Have you been up in arms all this time about women who are unable to consent being treated by male nurses?

No because if you see that it's a male nurse you can refuse consent. You can't do that if the male nurse is claiming to.be a woman. Think about it.

Haha yes I’ve already heard that one example. Thanks.
If it helps I’ve got a bit of an tache at the moment, time to book a wax or you won’t let me have a wee.

As transwomen are men forcing their way into a female only space, I doubt they would tell the truth. They have no compuction about infringing on other people's rights .

@SergeantDawkins
Here's a post that's just popped up on my Twitter feed.
It's a video of 2 people dressed in similar clothes, posing similarly.
Can you tell which one is the woman and which is the transwoman, or do you just see 2 women?

How is it ageist to say that you'll probably remember Y events if you're over X age?
I'm mid-40s and can remember transvestites walking down the high street, I surely can't be alone in that.
Is no one curious about where they've gone?
And yes, all the transvestites I saw were wearing inappropriate clothes, I see nothing wrong with saying this, and I don't care if you do.

What are ‘inappropriate clothes’?

Same names that pop up to tell everybody that no one cares about women's rights and continually can't seem to grasp that women's rights doesn't mean anti-trans. It's anti-men in women's spaces. Transwomen are men.

There's 75% of 642 of us on this thread.

Which is 481 and a half posters if you care to do the math. That half a woman needs to pull her weight a bit more 😂

Right so how do you know whether to believe @SnakesAndArrows when “she” claims to be female when confronted in the loos. Apparently saying “I’m female actually” will have the accuser squirming. But how would they tell if it’s true or not? If we think trans women are men lying then why would you believe anyone?

And how are androgynous or masc women protected??

Jaxhog · 22/06/2024 16:54

I agree though. What do you think will happen to androgynous women when they are in the ladies loo and mistaken for men? Chased out and accused of being men? Who is protecting the rights of women who don’t look like women? It is impossible to police because we do not all conform to gender norms.

but posters on here INSIST they can tell what gender/sex everyone is on sight . Come on!

In my youth, I was told off by a cleaning lady for entering the ladies. 'That's the ladies!' she cried, then apologised as she looked closer and realised I was female. I was on a building site, dressed in boots and a hard hat, so not a hard mistake to make. Did I cry because I'd been misgendered? Of course not. Better to be stopped, than a man entered the ladies unchallenged.

I'm all for mutual respect, but it has to be MUTUAL i.e. Transwomen need to respect Women as well.

I find your response odd tbh

It’s a straightforward question which the how can you discuss this posters seem to be avoiding

BrownTroutBluesAgain · 22/06/2024 16:56

On the basis that Labour have said nothing about what they intend to do with UC, PIP, workability and affordability of new taxes, the nhs, immigration etc etc etc
I think going in blind is not something I’m prepared to do. Especially when Labour lied and took us into a war with the loss of British lives.

We need a Party and PM who knows their mind, is capable of speaking out and will make the very difficult choices this country needs at the moment.
Starmer isn’t that person and Labour's manifesto says nothing.

JKR is prepared to speak out and she speaks for the safety of 51% of the population.

Are we pretending we don't know what inappropriate clothes are now?

Wearing a miniskirt with underwear that covers nothing and your genitalia peeking out of the bottom is pretty inappropriate in my opinion, how about you?

Edited

You didn’t cry because she believed you. But if the accuser is one of these posters who insists they can tell, why would they believe you? You’d have been accused and thrown out because they cannot possibly be wrong.
And just because you looked appropriately girly on closer inspection doesn’t mean all androgynous women will.

334bu · 22/06/2024 16:57

Simple solution for androgynous women, just tell all the men ,no matter how they identify, to stay out and then all the women can relax.
