Taskmaster rip off

As a taskmaster fan I eagerly awaited the taskmaster live experience where you will get to compete in taskmaster style tasks with friends/ family. Turns out most tickets are £100 pp* for 65mins. That's £4-500 for a family day (hour) out !! I think this is either quite frankly greedy of the organisers or they have miscalculated affordable costs to pass on. AIBU to think they should rethink their ticket prices and not be such twats?

*a few tickets mid week appeared to be £50 but v few.

I thought I was entering a ballot to be given a group freebie....was literally wetting myself this morning when I got an email to say I was a winner.

Suffice to say my excitement was extremely short lived 😂🙄

I was so excited to have an email saying I'd "won" the ticket ballot. Less so when i saw the price.

Far too expensive, I was expecting half the price! Needless to say won't be purchasing, but sure many will.

I think it’s a big bag of shite.
I stupidly thought I was getting live tickets for the actual show with the comedians. An hour of fucking about a rank garden listening to an iPad give me some instructions . Hell no!

They should rename the website “we saw you coming”

I think, somewhat irrationally, I think of little Alex Horne and Taskmaster as "good guys". This is based on nothing of course. Turns out "they" are completely out of touch.

Just had this chat with my DP as we are huge fans. I’m not going to go, even though it’s not that far for us to travel it’s so expensive and I also thought it was a live show!

I feel quite annoyed at how money grabbing and obnoxious it all is. It’s going to be so crap. No host, no comedians, just some silly games. I think it’s really poor form to charge £100pp for it. £40 seems reasonable, but even then 😵‍💫😵‍💫

We couldn't work out if we were applying to be in the audience, or to be on a non celebrity version.

Wow we're big task master fans (well maybe not that big seeing as this is the first time I've heard of this live show) but 100 pp for an HOUR of games? Bloody hell it's cheaper to go to a theme park for a whole day.

Was so obvious that everyone who ‘applied’ would ‘win’. I was flabbergasted at the actual prices though. Like wtaf?!?

So glad I've seen this. Was similarly excited to get in the ballot, as DH didnt, and we are massive fans. But £100? Nope, not for us sadly.

I thought it was clear it wasn't for the show itself but a live experience similar to the Crystal Maze

I saw the £50 and thought that seemed reasonable, hadn't logged on to see it was mostly £100 tickets...

I'm guessing part of the issue is paying for the venue?

You to appear to end up potentially competing with other "winners" at one point but its not super clear whether that means if you win your game you have to stay all day to participate or what?

The idea is fantastic, the execution needs work

But you can go and visit the garden for free

I also applied having scoured the website looking for prices, got the email today but had already seen people posting about the price of the tickets so had already decided not to get any, going to see Greg on tour next year so have that to look forward to. So expensive it does seem a rip off

I knew it wasn't a live show , but was expecting prices more in the £50pp range.

Also feel ripped off. Thought I was getting tickets for kids to be in audience for live show. Cannot believe the prices.
