Well, we witches are pretty used to it - inured you might say.
And this witch is old and weary of a world that thinks the idea "and harm ye none" is radical and dangerous if you're wearing stripey tights and a pointed hat.
Paganism is based on living in harmony with the world and nature so JSO have just scored a massive own goal by alienating a good chunk of people with similar values to their own.
I bet they thought "Oh it's just a bunch of old stones - no harm no foul" and have actually sod all knowledge of the particular eco-system around this site such as the lichen. I suppose they could argue that Solstice revellers are just as damaging in their way, however, the events are controlled (I know from experience that prohibited items - including umbrellas - are removed on entry) and it is a site of spiritual significance. So how they managed to do this is concerning.
My teeny tiny tinfoil witch hat does wonder about how such groups are able to pull these stunts when mere mortals are patted down and surveilled regularly going about their business. Is it smoke and mirrors or bread and circuses?
And the implication of this kind of thing on the right to peaceful protest is concerning.
Had these immature attention seeking infants spoken to the movers and shakers on the Solstice front, they could have had a rather better bit of publicity - a whole bunch of people coming together and incorporating concern for the planet with an energetic and spiritual thrust that really reflects the respect for the planet that they profess to have.
It's supposed to be a symbiosis, our existence here, because everything is connected. Not a turf war.
But you never know - perhaps the threefold law will work its charm.
It's just sad though isn't it?
