My husband walks around the house "singing". Well it's not really singing, it's just "la la la" to no particular tune.

I should be pleased he's happy but it annoys the hell out of me!

Opinionwontchangeluv · 19/06/2024 04:16

Opinionwontchangeluv · 19/06/2024 04:16

And I had this ex who used to eat so loudly it made me hate him lol

Runki · 19/06/2024 05:09

Neighbour banging front gate loudly at exactly the same time every morning, at least three times in a row.

My son walking round the house listening to the same Nirvana song on his phone over and over again.

Bloke at work who never clears his throat so talks in a voice that sounds like a robot. Makes me want to gag.

Voices on radio adverts bleating out the terms and conditions at nineteen to the dozen so that no human can possibly understand them.

That Domino who whoooooo advert. Makes me want to bang my head against a wall and/or commit murder.

Runki · 19/06/2024 05:14

The endless See it Say it Sorted announcement on trains. Or is it See Say It Sort It. 🤔 Anyone know or care ha ha ha

WaitingfortheTardis · 19/06/2024 05:15

Headphone leakage
Children on Tablets with the sound on in restaurants
Neighbours, though we've moved and now don't hear anyone which is brilliant.
Jean noise, when the denim rubs together.

Lillieloola · 19/06/2024 05:16

Husband eating Apple…I have to leave the room !

robinsnest1967 · 19/06/2024 06:47

Loud sneezing, sniffing, crunching, snoring.

BiscuityBoyle · 19/06/2024 07:07

And canned laughter, particularly in American sitcoms!

In U.K. shows it is never canned laughter.

NellyTimes · 19/06/2024 07:08

Oh god, fucking flip flops! The dragging across the floor then the slap against the foot, they're an abomination. Do people have no idea how annoying they are? Buy some fucking sandals, you bastards.

The scraping of plates with a knife to get up the last scrap of food.
The jangle of the spoon when my DH is eating anything from a bowl like cereal or a pudding, he makes so much racket I can hear him from the other side of the house.
The jangle of the spoon when my mate makes a cup of tea and she swirls it for ages and then tap, tap, taps it on the edge of the cup - no one makes as much noise as she does.
People eating crisps and this includes the crunching and the rustling of the bag.
People eating apples.
The Magnum ad where they bite into the ice cream urgh!
The buzzing of a fly when it goes behind my shutters to the window and refuses to get out
Noisy motorbikes.
DH in his slippers shuffling along and not picking up his feet.

Plus from years ago when I worked with my sister and pre computers, she used to gather up A4 sheets of paper and square them up on the desk. Tap, tap, tap lengthways and then tap tap tap, sideways and then (just for good measure) tap tap tap lengthways again. I had to leave the room it wound me up so much. God bless the digital age 😁

Somebody on the street across from mine runs an illegal mechanic business from their back garden. The squealing of whatever angle grinder he’s using to torture vehicles is enough to give me a tension headache. It’s not as torturous in winter when the weather is noisier, and the windows are closed, but in summer it is enough to drive me to tears.

We've just got back from France and it was conspicuous how much less day-to-day noise there was, that we seem to have sucked up here in the UK.
Even in large, bustling towns there was an absence of music everywhere, especially in restaurants and markets. There was just a gentle hum of conversation, and it was so refreshing and calming.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 19/06/2024 09:35

Keypad tones on phones
Idling cars
Someone repeatedly clicking a clicky pen
Volume on phones when someone is watching/listening to something - wear earphones
Tinny music when someone is wearing earphone but the volume is too loud
My dog when he deploys his yappy, anxious bark
The whine from power tools
Whistling
Humming
My colleague who eats with his fingers and licks every finger during and after

I could go on

So true, the villages there are so calm and relaxing aren't they? Mind you they don't have the population density we do.

Foodieasfuck · 19/06/2024 09:51

Pigeons! Noisy, feathery little fuckers! I bloody hate the noise and mess they make!

Nw22 · 19/06/2024 09:54

Children screaming for no reason

Dovesflyhigh · 19/06/2024 10:01

My repulsive colleague who eats like a pig at his desk. Slathering and slapping his lips, crunching puffed crisps with his mouth wide open. Slapping his ugly gob over and over again. Makes me feel sick. He has his earphones in and music on so has no real idea. Plus he doesn’t care anyway and is the type to do it even more if he knew how much it bothered people. An utter pig.

BitchesBeSniffin · 19/06/2024 10:05

My dog licking herself.

PrincessMiranda · 19/06/2024 10:07

Starmer, droning on his monotonous monotone voice. He has as much charisma as bin bag.

That's interesting

My ExH breathing, snoring, speaking.. I could go on.

Abracadabra12345 · 19/06/2024 10:10

Some of these replies are brilliant and I bet a lot of us are nodding our heads in quiet - of course! - empathy. We can't control what others do but we can at least vent here

ItsItchy · 19/06/2024 14:45

My MIL's voice!!!!!!

Men sneezing. Just why? It feels so unnecessary.
