To think the never ending criticism of Rishi Sunak is rooted in racism?

I know he's not perfect as none of our politicians are! But I do feel like people are out to trip him up over personal things as much as possible. This Sky TV thing is Rodin my opinion - Rishi has never claimed to have had a difficult start or to have grown up in poverty. The journalist pressed him for what he went without in order that his parents could afford his private education and he said he always wanted Sky TV and never had it. He was saying it in a fairly lighthearted way he wasn't moaning or complaining!

People can't seem to handle the fact that he's wealthy and also the puns on his name and the claims he's "unpatriotic". I feel a little bit of thinly veiled racism creeping in.

Rishi is an incompetent Globalist tw@ from a string of incompetent Globalist tw@s that began with the cabal that knifed Maggie in the back.
And he'd be an incompetent Globalist tw@ whatever his ethnic background.

Itllfalloff · 13/06/2024 00:10

I think he’s an over privileged, privately educated prick - just like the rest of the Tories. His ethnicity is irrelevant

Gondoliere · 13/06/2024 06:07

The people left in this country can be represented by the likes of Angela R. They soon will get her. Remember when Venezuelans wanted a man of the people and they got Chavez. All beautifully equally poor and uneducated over there now. Chavez and successors loaded 🤑

All the hate is less to do with race but more to do with envy. Just you wait.

MadameMassiveSalad · 13/06/2024 06:22

It's really not.

FishPhoods · 12/06/2024 13:42

No I'm not name changing actually.

I think people are being unfairly critical and nitpicking over things that don't matter instead of focussing on the politics of it all. Why is he a moron? Why use language like that?

All tories are morns op. It's really not about race. There's a lot of racist tories though.

Crystallizedring · 13/06/2024 06:28

Nothing to do with racism it's because he hasn't got a fucking clue about how most people live. Tbf none of the politicians in this country haven't got a clue either.
Also he just gives the impression of being really slimy, possibly that's unfair but he doesn't come across as a people's person.

Pin0cchio · 13/06/2024 06:41

Its not really comparable.

I notice you picked out the school leaver, rather than Keir Starmer - a highly educated ex QC who got there because he's really fucking clever, as opposed to because mummy & daddy could afford public school fees.

tinytemper66 · 13/06/2024 07:52

For me it isn't his religion, the colour of his skin etc it is his blatant lying, being out of touch and his lack of apology for anything.

Arewealljustloosingtheplot · 13/06/2024 08:01

Absolutely nothing to do with racism and all to do about the fact he’s absolutely fucking terrible at his job.

Tufton Street's scare-mongering division is working over time, I see

I think it is more his privileged and billionaire out of touch lifestyle that people are annoyed about, not his race. I still remember the slagging Cameron got for not knowing the price of a pint of milk. Britain seem obsessed with this kind of thing which may be because most of the Politicians (Tories anyway) are from very privileged backgrounds. I don't think you get such a high percentage of highly privileged politicians in other countries.

Highly Educated does not always equate with being clever and Starmer is a prime example of that.
The man who, when Director of the DPP, oversaw not only no action taken against Jimmy Saville, but also a very low key approach taken against the Pakistani Rape Gangs that Anne Cryer tried to expose.

MsLuxLisbon · 13/06/2024 09:03

YABVVU. There is nothing racist in dislike of him, he is just absolutely fucking useless.

dontcryformeargentina · 13/06/2024 09:12

Nothing to do with his race but everything to do with his inability to listen to UK public and act in UK public interests. He is a globalist puppet and got a job lined up in the US already. Remember Batak Obamas recent informal visit to Rishi?

Keir Starmer is a genius compared to all the tory PMs we've had in gov the last few years.

No he's just Uber rich and out of touch. He seems really sweet and well meaning but sadly Boris, Michelle Mone, Nigel Farage, Liz Truss and David Cameron have left him nothing to build on.
Boris was also massively rich and way more of a lying cheating snake than Rishi is, but for some reason this country liked him cos he likes getting pissed and acting like a clown.
I'd take Rishi over any other Tory, but we've all had it with Tories, the country is totally broke and ruined and we cannot let another Tory government drive us into the ground.
We have no choice but to stump up the supposed £2000 to save the NHS, schools etc etc etc because the Tories have ruined our country enough.

The £2000 figure is not fact. It’s been fact checked. Rishi lied. Kier called him out on it and there may well be an investigation.

He was nothing to do with the JS case. That has been debunked. Dear god people do a bit of fact checking before you go spouting off half baked slurs you read on Facebook. Use your own intelligence.

too much to ask for tory PR machine / conspiracy theorists / rishi sympathisers to do this, I am afraid.

QuickMember · 13/06/2024 09:23

There always has been skepticism over whether Rishi was the right man for the job based on his background and whether his values align with traditional British values. I don’t think it’s racism per se but I do see a pattern that people always nitpick on small things near the end of a politicians time in office. It’s the small things that can be made into click bait, memes and it sort of lightens the mood. As much as I get what Rishi was actually saying with the whole sky tv thing, I have found some of the piss taking quite funny.

I know. 😢I’m just so sick of of all the misinformation that gets touted around about so much. About all sorts. Not just politics. It’s everywhere. This election more than any other we need to go direct to the manifestos, listen directly to what they say and do our own fact checking of anything that seems too good to be true or like it’s aimed to stir emotion.

agree. sadly too many voters have zero critical thinking skills and prefer "alternative facts" to reality.

FishPhoods · 12/06/2024 13:43

Liz Truss was well deserved criticism of her performance, David Cameron didn't have people trying to trip him up at every single opportunity like what we are seeing happening here.

And Rishi Sunak is getting well deserved criticism of his performance. He's awful! Nothing to do with racism.

SocoBateVira · 13/06/2024 10:07

Cameron was fortunate in 2010 to be running against a fairly unpopular incumbent government, and then in 2015 there was another party to split any blame with because they'd been in coalition.

Anonymouseposter · 13/06/2024 10:27

I won’t be voting Conservative but I do agree that there’s a whiff and undercurrent of racism. I don’t find Sunak as incompetent/ untrustworthy as his two immediate predecessors although I do find him somewhat out of touch. I think the D day criticism is overblown . He was there for all the events involving veterans and was respectful. However I won’t vote for him as a value public services.
