Help settle an argument (not really an argument) between me and my husband.
What colour is my hair in this photo?

Mousey brown

I would say level 7. 8is blonde and 6 is brown, you are in the middle

I suppose it's a very light shade of brown in your original pic, but there are some streaks in your hair that make me think dark blonde.

Couldn’t you just have some dark blonde/light brown low lights put in and let your own hair grow back in rather than dying over the whole thing?

I’m no hairdresser so that might not be a thing.

I was thinking I'd have to choose a dark blonde hair dye, my husband thinks brown.

So you are thinking of dying it at home then? I'd just start with a semi like casting colours which will eventually wash out. I've used them for years and recommend going several colours lighter.
eg- I'm naturally dark brown, but buy their light brown one. If I used a dark brown, it would come out almost black.

Your natural hair looks light brown to me but hair dye does come up darker than the name suggests . Light brown tends to look quite dark. I would go for dark ash blonde to get that colour.
