One leg in one leg out is a sound strategy to cool down in bed?

You get into bed you're hot, you take the cover off you're cold. Natural solution half in half out right?

I do that!

StaySpicy · 06/06/2024 18:11

Yes, or both lower legs out and hips/bum covered!

Singleandproud · 06/06/2024 18:11

No, feet out the bottom but legs covered is the way to go.

OneTC · 06/06/2024 18:13

Legs work like a heatsink, so uncovering one or both will help you shed body heat quicker

NeverEnoughPants · 06/06/2024 18:14

Yep, I have been known to do that on occasion. Why do you ask?

LongSinceGotUpAndGone · 06/06/2024 18:14

Yes, I often do this.

pictoosh · 06/06/2024 18:16

I do it too. Works.

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 06/06/2024 18:17

But what about the monsters under the bed? They only grab what isn't under the duvet!

CleftChin · 06/06/2024 18:17

yes. My preferred method is to roll over with the lower-half of the quilt kinda between my legs so the top leg is cooling, and the bottom leg is out. It's tricky to get the balance right so there's not a draft up my back, but it means one leg isn't potentially dangling for the monster under the bed to grab, plus I'm a side-sleeper anyway.

LauderSyme · 06/06/2024 18:18

Yep, it works for the males in my household (and the female, when she is recovering from a hot flush. When she is in the actual throes of a hot flush the duvet gets violently shoved aside, but half and half works well as the heat recedes 🔥 ).

I thought it was so cute when ds started sticking one leg out in the exact same way his df does.

TheTripThatWasnt · 06/06/2024 18:18

Of course! It's why if we ever end up with a bed against a wall, I always take the 'open' side. I can't sleep against a wall.

CleftChin · 06/06/2024 18:18

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who considered the monster under the bed.

We are being roped in to settle an argument, is my guess 🙂

I have this but when my feet are uncovered I fear the serial killer hiding under my bed will grab my feet. However, if my feet are not exposed, he won't bother me

Best way.

Sue152 · 06/06/2024 18:24

A hand and a foot is the best way. If you have a whole leg or a whole arm they will end up cold.

LauderSyme · 06/06/2024 18:25

JayAlfredPrufrock · 06/06/2024 18:22

Do you dare to eat a peach though?

Love love love that poem ❤️ Ref username for those who think I am barking.

Springwatch123 · 06/06/2024 18:25

Also, turn your pillow over. Result, one ice- cold pillow. I’ve never worked out why this is so, but it works.

usernother · 06/06/2024 18:27

Both feet out is far more effective.

As long as your foot doesn’t hang over the side of the bed, you’re fine.

Craftycorvid · 06/06/2024 18:55

Absolutely correct procedure. This technique is known as ‘spider legging’ in our household, as in one leg on the web to pick up the vibes of anything wandering about out there. Of course, no foot must dally too long off the edge of the bed due to monsters. Monsters are known to be unable to climb.

Me too. Dd does the same.
