You get into bed you're hot, you take the cover off you're cold. Natural solution half in half out right?

YANBU

It's absolutely the right thing to do.

Also, if afraid of ghosts - cover entire self with duvet and they disappear.

One foot out but have to have a sock on

I do this! One foot out and above the covers. Both feet if I’m really hot. Highly recommend it.

I do this! Works a treat.

I loathe duvets, I wake up constantly in the night being too hot or cold. At home I have traditional sheets and blankets and sleep soundly all night. Also there isn't the tussle over a double duvet if you are sharing a bed. Sheets and blankets don't wander because they are tucked in.

My inner thermometer has been broken my entire life so I think I have this down to science.

Winter:
Start with a heating pad on my feet so they are toasty and warm
Add a cat or two
kick one foot out of the covers when I get hot
kick 2 feet out when one doesn’t get the job done
swear and roll several cats off of me hrmphh roll over and flip all the covers off
sigh sweet relief
get a bit chilly pull sheet over me (we do top sheets were I live)
wait awhile… get chilly pull comforter (duvet equivalent) over me
have one or two cats come back to lay on random body parts
feel just a bit chillier and pull the last blanket over me and cats

Now that is if I haven’t said eff it and gotten up to walk outside at midnight in -23 weather to reset my borked thermometer.

Summer:
Is largely the same with less blankets and no heating pad and sticking my head in the freezer because outside is hot.

🤣🤣🤣
I have to, because if I don't the sole of my foot and then that horrible skin soreness radiates right round my whole body and lasts for a few days, it's really vile even my hair hurts, stopped happening after I put wee socks on☺️
