So all the 2 million threads started each day about the moral rights to private education, the immense sacrifices and the sheer unfairness of everything visited upon the poor lambs who bravely go without food, shelter and transport because they believe in sending their kids to fee-paying school can be moved there and away from everywhere else? Please?

Actually kinda interesting about the FB groups. Didn’t they find out that a bunch of Conservative Party groups were starting and stoking the ULEZ/LTN ones with a bunch of nonsense and that’s part of why every local FB page in London was a cesspit of prople (real or not, it was hard to tell) being absolutely bats about cars for solid year?

It’s got the same feeling, where you’re like hang on how can THIS many people care this much about this and why are lots of them using the same line

god yes!! Please make this happen Mumsnet!!

If your wish is granted and mumsnet provide a private schools board, on which board should the parent who can’t decide between private and state school post?
Or if their dc are leaving state school for private school or vice versa?

VAT would (and indeed is) payable by private tutors once they reach their turnover reaches the VAT threshold.

You're incorrect. Tutoring of subjects taught at school is VAT exempt for self employed and members of partnership/limited company.

presumably a lot of these parents weren’t that well educated themselves … VAT is payable once someone self employed hits the threshold. if you’re earning under, which many freelancers do, then VAT isn’t applicable.
There are benefits to being VAT registered.

Self employed DON'T pay VAT on tutoring. At all. Ever.
If tutoring is carried out by employee or helper then VAT applies.

You're so eager to find reasons to be nasty about people that you don't even fact check before you attack.
