Love my rotary cheese grater - always hated grating cheese but this is a game changer.

Meat thermometer.

What kitchen gadgets do you actually rate?

Italian coffee pot that goes on the stove. God knows how many coffee machines, filter coffee devices I have been through over the years. Don't need to worry about filter papers or cleaning out various parts of the machine!

AlisonDonut · 01/06/2024 20:44

That reminds me, also both my Aeropress and my Lidl stand mixer.

Instant Pot Duo
Kitchen Aid
Microplane
Lavazza Desea coffee machine
Sodastream

All used very very frequently and adored.

Electric can opener - had my current one 15 years +

Ninja air fryer/ grill - only really got it for my son as he cooked chicken every day and I was sick of the oven running for ages - I use it so much.

Fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser. An absolute must for gin and tonic!

DeLonghi coffee maker, takes dolce gusto pods, didn't think I'd make much use of it, I definitely do.

Cafetiere pot, not really a gadget, but I use it every day. I make a pot, pop it in flasks for work.

That mechanical cheese grater looks amazing. Do you have a specific brand (or link)?

Slapmyself · 01/06/2024 20:56

Air fryer and pressure cooker . I have not used my oven/hob for over a year

ItsOnlyJustBegun · 01/06/2024 21:02

….and a Warhl (sp?) handheld blender - no longer available ☹️

Mini silicone ended tongs. My dh thought I was ridiculous buying them, but I loved them so much I now have two.

Meat thermometer.

Ninja 9in1 - I can pressure cook, slow cook, Air fry, bake (and make yoghurt??)

cheapo pancake pan from Aldi - never saw the need and the kids convinced me one pancake day. We make crepes all the time now. Never stick, always flip - no shit first pancake just fab. The low sides just make it a dream.

meat thermometer - wouldn’t be without one.

I think I've got the same pancake pan as you! Bought it on a whim one year but it's absolutely amazing 😄

Yes to the aldi pancake maker. Cheap as chips, bought before Covid and used EVERY school day for pancakes for breakfast or french cinnamon toast. Served with a frothy cappuccino to my thoroughly spoiled children, it was what got them up for their online classes.
Still used very regularly. I keep my pancake mixture in a 2 litre milk carton in the fridge.

Sounds interesting can you link it please?

Shouldbedoing · 01/06/2024 21:16

I treated myself to a second butter dish. Allows me to start a new pack for visitors and use up or wash the other butter
dish in my own time. Gamechanger.

Clevs · 01/06/2024 21:16

Garlic Twist
Pampered Chef tin opener.

I also use to own an onion chopper that was really good at chopping onions really finely. It broke and I haven't got round to replacing it yet. Every time I chop onions I remind myself to get another! It was like this one but it had a small bowl on the top instead of the bottom.

And wooden tongs for retrieving stuck toast. They stick to the toaster with a magnet. Lakeland originally.

Shouldbedoing · 01/06/2024 21:19

Someone shared a link to that chopper early on in the thread

Kaleidoscope101 · 01/06/2024 21:23

Air fryer
Joseph and Joseph knives (set of 3)
Knife sharpener - game changer
Tape dispenser. Only cost a few quid but is brilliant

Phantasmagorically · 01/06/2024 21:31

I always congratulate myself at Christmas time for having a proper office style sellotape dispenser.

longdistanceclaraclara · 01/06/2024 21:48

Really decent knives and get a sharpener once a year to keep them sharp

Eyesopenwideawake · 01/06/2024 22:02

Sous vide. Vacuum pack any meat, chuck it in for several hours and it's meltingly tender.

Sewsew0 · 01/06/2024 22:05

Pastry blender like this. Perhaps a bit niche but perfect for making crumbles or rubbing in butter to flour for scones, pastry etc. Cheap, small to store and easy to use!

Microplane grater.

Silicone baking mat. (Don't need flour to roll out pastry or shape bread).

Easy glide baking trays - super nonstick and get properly hot so food is crispy, not soggy. Scoville muffin tins for Yorkshire puddings for the same reason.

Digital scales.

Meat thermometer.

Good selection of spoons & tongs.

Joseph & Joseph garlic rocker thing.

Aramiss · 01/06/2024 22:25

Quooker tap

Alicewinn · 01/06/2024 22:27

Nutribullet & air fryer
