You know those little things in life that people like to morally police and make you feel guilty about but you just can't muster up the shit to give?

This is a confession thread. I'll start.

I don't give a shit that you supposedly shouldn't feed bread to ducks. I don't care. Don't eat it then. People have been feeding them bread for decades and now we're supposed to bring them organic bloody walnuts or something? Or some other crap they don't want that doesn't float?
They can have my slightly mouldy bread and be grateful.

Over to you.

You realise not feeding them at all is an option, right.
You give them food you've been told is harmful for them because it makes you feel good to feed them??

And then you hear that they are starving because no one is feeding them anymore, and they have become too dependent on humans so to please feed them again

coxesorangepippin · 01/06/2024 01:16

Watching videos of other people's children

I mean come on

brendafromacrosstheroad · 01/06/2024 01:22

Politics. Elections boring 🥱

TheRomanticOutlaw · 01/06/2024 01:28

What celebrities are doing/not doing/marrying/divorcing/whatever.

Different types of jeans. I don't care whether they are high/low/mid rise, mom, boyfriend, skinny, slim, straight, flared, wide leg blah blah. I just want a pair of jeans that look nice and are comfy.

Money. I mean, I care that I have enough to live on, but other than that I'm not bothered about having more of it, if it means I would have to work myself into the ground and have no work-life balance.

Dunnoburt · 01/06/2024 01:34

Politics, dogs and newborn babies.... .

Pandas.

They aren’t that bothered about continuing their own species so why should we care. They refuse to have sex with each other and have to eat about four times their own body weight per day. It’s unsustainable! Let them go extinct!

Fuck me, just realised I am a panda!

TheCryingTheBitchAndTheFloordrobe · 01/06/2024 01:51

What other people are eating.

I'm sure your pancakes are lovely, Marjorie, but I don't need to see a photo of every single plate of food you consume.

Toooldforthisshit49 · 01/06/2024 01:53

I just don't care about anything unless it affects me personally, life is too short 😊

TakemedowntoPotatoCity · 01/06/2024 01:55

I don't care about makeup, or skin creams, or shoes, or anything that is peddled to make women feel that they need to improve themselves by spending £££ that men miraculously don't seem to need.

Teenagerantruns · 01/06/2024 02:20

I don't care about climate change, or recycling, yes l know l should but l really can't be bothered. I lob the wine bottles in the glass bin that's about it.
As to ducks well l live near the sea, the bloody seagulls eat everything, chips, rubbish so I'm sure the ducks are fine with bread.

  • nurses pay. Most nurses i know are on good salaries, living in large houses etc, good benefits. Better pay than the majority of people and also get discounts off their shops. Yes they worked through the pandemic, this was the job they signed up for. You cant have a career in nursing and them complain when theres an illness. The strikes are greedy.
  • tipping restaurant staff. They get paid a wage like everyone else, why is it expected to give them extra for doing a job they are paid to do? My sister used to work in a bar and she was on a lot more than minimum wage because she got so many tips, which was untaxed.

👏👏👏

There isn’t many ducks around our area but loads of swans. We feed them bread, although usually buy a fresh loaf, we never give them mouldy.

Feeding ducks bread isn’t actually that harmful. It’s not very nutricious for them but it’s not the end of the world. It’s also quite good for swans to give them some extra calories, especially in winter. The main risk is to the environment if any bread goes uneaten which, let’s face it, doesn’t happen.

This is probably quite controversial but I don’t care about some desperate need to be loyal to blood relations no matter what. I’m one of the youngest in a very large family, and most of them never gave a shit about me. I’m close to a couple of them and that’s it. The rest don’t bother with me and I don’t bother with them. Some of them are scum to be honest for a lot of reasons. I don’t understand people having to stick by people who are arseholes or who give no benefit to your life, or even hinder it, just because they’re family! I’m all for the family you choose and build for yourself being more important.

The whole ‘blood is thicker than water’ thing is one of the most misunderstood quotes ever.

The duck defenders are having none of it. 🤣

The outrage is making me laugh though.

Lol. Me too. I am scrolling through past the duck shit 🙄 looking for the posters who understand that this was supposed to be light hearted ‘confessional’ thread.
For the record I don’t care about
people‘s pets
people’s holidays
recycling - I only do it when forced to
animal charities- especially the suffering donkeys - why aren’t they just put out of their misery? The hungry and homeless are more important.
i am ashamed to say that I could add more to this list.

Yes, I know what you mean about’blood thicker than water’. And I wouldn’t worry about being controversial: that’s kind of what the thread is 😊

What trans women?

I couldn’t give a shiny shit about what the person next to me has between their legs.

You didn't say trans women. You said men. Transphobe.

Jeez - 'let them go extinct'
What an odd thing to say

Mothership4two · 01/06/2024 02:36

That other people do and say things differently to me. Some people may wash/shower/bath more/less than me or say "toilet" instead of "loo". It effects me not a jot. I don't care.

Ilovecleaning · 01/06/2024 02:37

Londonlassy · 01/06/2024 02:35

Recycling

Me neither! And I often pretend to care. I’m such a hypocrite!

Londonlassy · 01/06/2024 02:39

Sponsoring your child’s hike, mountain climb, building huts in some developing country etc We all know we’re basically funding the child’s jolly and nothing to do with charity. No thanks.

I don't give a shit about UPF

Same
Yes I know that a toffee crisp isn't the best for me because I'm not dim and realise that dark chocolate is better but sometimes I want a toffee crisp. I also don't have the money to be buying the alternative bread which is meant to be better or the time or energy to be arsed about making it

I cook 90% of my meals from scratch which seems to be way more than any of my colleagues or friends do

Who would have thought ducks would have been such a big topic lmao

I know! How do people not realise that the details of their lives are arse-achingly boring? I remember having to feign interest in a woman at work who scrolled through her photos of her Christmas decorations explaining each photo and how she made each wreath, tree, garland…
I wanted to shout ‘Bugger off and let me drink my tea in peace!’

Mothership4two · 01/06/2024 02:44

The zillion awful heart-string pulling charity adverts ("small child has to walk a 50 miles to collect a bowl full of dirty puddle water" type ones). I can't do anything about it, it just makes me feel sh*t and I switch over to avoid them.
