You know those little things in life that people like to morally police and make you feel guilty about but you just can't muster up the shit to give?

This is a confession thread. I'll start.

I don't give a shit that you supposedly shouldn't feed bread to ducks. I don't care. Don't eat it then. People have been feeding them bread for decades and now we're supposed to bring them organic bloody walnuts or something? Or some other crap they don't want that doesn't float?
They can have my slightly mouldy bread and be grateful.

Over to you.

And here we go, into the nastiness this site is known for around trans women

You're welcome.

CandiedPrincess · 01/06/2024 09:46

On the toilet debate...I actually wish more toilets were unisex. Women are consistently disadvantaged in this area as we're always woefully undercatered for.

Cattyisbatty · 01/06/2024 09:47

My career - or lack of it! It was doing ok before I had kids, but now in my 50s, meh. Just want to work somewhere decent and be paid at end of month. I’m not brain of Britain and was never going to have some massive career.
Don’t really care re ‘gender neutral’ mixed toilets with separate cubicles (esp with own sinks) but wouldn’t want a man in a ladies. Stick to your lane - if you have a penis go for where the toilets are for penis-owners and vice versa.
Gardening. I try to be arsed but it lasts 5 mins… dh mows lawn and we do a bit of weeding, that’s it.

VinnieVanDog · 01/06/2024 09:47

Climate Change. I just don't care if its happening or not and don't listen to any of the hypocritical bollocks about it.

Epidote · 01/06/2024 09:48

There are so many stuff in this thread that I can't care less about. I agree with nails, make up and quite a lot of others.
On the contrary let me tell you something I care about and most you would say really? that sound boring. Yarn and fabric fibres. I can spend a lot of time selecting them before doing a garment. For me is as much fun as do the garment itself.

This thread is great but could be made better - if only we were using our real names and then everyone would know exactly which selfish and ignorant twunts to avoid.

Isn’t that Facebook?

Well, your unconcern about the issue might be connected to the fact that you literally don't know what you're talking about here!

A trans man is a woman who thinks she's a man. She would be most displeased to hear she looked "more of a woman than you do".

Well, I got the two mixed up, but you knew what I was getting at, and a simple mistake hardly implies that I don’t know what I’m talking about, does it? I didn’t say I was unconcerned either, ( in fact I said I get the worry). I made the point that unless more obvious males frequented women’s toilets (which I’ve never, ever known to happen yet) then people will probably not even realise that the woman who is in there is in fact a man, so it will be harder to police who uses which toilets. You knew what I meant perfectly well, you just felt the need to try and sound superior 😂

But you just said it's only a minority, so why would you care?

Witchbitch20 · 01/06/2024 09:53

Also, sourdough.

BeeDavis · 01/06/2024 09:53

I couldn’t give a shit how, where, who makes my clothes. Out of sight, out of mind.

Conserving water eg turning the tap off when cleaning teeth etc.
Surrounded by the stuff. Pay for every drop. And indeed the stuff continues to spill out of a nearby road, despite numerous failed attempts to fix it.
Don't tell me off.

Nails
Fashion generally
American politics. I mean frankly if the general populace isn't smart enough to see the insanity of Donald Trump then the USA deserves it's fall from grace. If the opposition haven't got enough gumption to field someone better than Boden then more fool them too. The whole experiment of that free nation appears to be heading towards abject failure.
Cleaning my car.
Making sure my kids rooms are tidy. They're teenagers they can love in their own pit, i just want the plates etc out of there and the dirty washing in the basket.

cerisepanther73 · 01/06/2024 09:54

@BrickTraybake

Bread 🍞 is the equivalent of junk food for birds wildlife
It's cheap enough to buy proper bird food from various stores such as Home bargains , The Range store and other places too,

Why would bird life want mouldy going off stale junk food in the first place then?

I am former Rspb bird life society charity organisation of Uk

What trans women?

I couldn’t give a shiny shit about what the person next to me has between their legs.

You know, I read stuff like this, and I just cannot believe that there are women who walk among us, that are this blinkered.

There have been hundreds of documented cases, of men (dressed as women) attacking women in women's changing rooms, bathrooms and places that were previously single sex spaces. Also, peeping Toms, looking over the top of bathroom stalls etc.

You absolutely would care what was between a person's legs, if you were in a bathroom alone, with a man who wanted to rape you.

You absolutely should care, if you have daughters/nieces, who might find themselves in the bathroom with hairy Mike, whilst you sit obliviously at a table outside chatting with your friends.

Well, you should care for womankind in general, but I can see that's not going to happen here.

I could honestly cry with frustration, when women deny what's happening to us.

If mentally unwell men want to pretend they are women, open a third set of facilities for them. It's not women's problem to solve, and they don't get us to budge over and make space for them in what should be safe and private female only spaces.

Cooper77 · 01/06/2024 09:57

My job! Isn't it enough that I spend my life doing something I hate? Don't tell me I have to pretend to enjoy it as well. Don't tell me I have to care if I'm any good. And don't tell me I have to care about my 'progress report', or worry about 'areas for improvement'. I don't give a shit. I want to scream at my manager "I do this for one reason – money."

WickedSerious · 01/06/2024 09:45

You're welcome.

I don’t really give a shit about the feelings of mentally unwell men. I do care about not having to get changed in a dressing room where there’s a man in lipstick stood in front of my daughter with his hairy ball sack on show.

Thank god mumsnet MOTHERS have some common sense when it comes to this topic

I don’t care about men in women’s toilets

How very convenient for you.

Justcats · 01/06/2024 10:02

I don't give a shit about the lectures on here from Terfs.

HelpMeGetThrough · 01/06/2024 10:03

Good lord are we still rumbling on about ducks?

Well, this place does like to get them in a row.

SuffolkUnicorn · 01/06/2024 10:04

Parents at the school no I don’t want to talk to you so keep having conversations about me why I don’t speak to anyone the real reason is you look like something from the set of shameless

kids with no manners

Ohhhthedrama · 31/05/2024 23:33

Screen time, fresh air, and healthy eating at the weekend/ school holidays. Some weekends, I barely see my kids except when I take food up to them or they come down searching for food or to collect the order from the delivery person ( we get take out every Friday & Saturday night). They can happily spend a whole weekend lounging in the bedroom on phones, tablets, and Playstation.

What a shame

NalafromtheLionKing · 01/06/2024 10:06

The in-laws.

Who wins in pretty much any sport.

I do care about the environment and climate change but think there is absolutely no point in making any efforts for so long as the giant Chinese power stations keep pumping out their poisonous fumes (same applies to any other major polluter which renders our efforts tiny and meaningless). I also don’t care enough to stop us taking a couple of holidays a year, considering that flights will still fly all day every day regardless of whether or not we are on them.

Ditto vegetarianism/veganism. I would consider this if our personally giving up actually made a difference and saved animals but it doesn’t. No animals have ever been slaughtered just for us and I’m not a believer in ‘if everyone did it, things would change’ because that won’t happen and we would just be depriving ourselves for no reason (bearing in mind that I don’t consider moral superiority or ‘the principle’ a reason).

If DC or I catch an illness/infection somewhere (think nursery/school, the gym/pool etc), we are not then going to stop going to that place at our own inconvenience and expense for however long it takes us to recover. Someone there gave it to us in the first place and the buck does not stop with us.

I never want my DC to be heroes if it means they would save someone at the expense of their own life (or cause them serious injury). I care about them a million times more than anyone else in the world (combined).

People (whether in the U.K. or developing countries) need to take some personal responsibility for their actions eg not having billions of kids that they know will have extremely bad life prospects unless strangers step in to pay for them. It is not up to me to pay for such people.
