There is no way of contacting customer services... is there anything I can do I feel so angry about it.

take screenshots, go to the police and report to vinted

Anotherparkingthread · 31/05/2024 13:15

Contact the police. I imagine vinted don't really have a choice but to cooperate if police ask. Or buy something then start a return to get their address lol. Depends on your capability for violence I suppose.

Stompythedinosaur · 31/05/2024 13:17

I agree, you need to go via the police.

SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 13:46

I have gone back to the police but I don't think they have the time to deal with such a small crime. But I will keep trying! I just don't want them getting away with it! I want the police to take it seriously but I understand how busy they are :(

Someone will have put the CEOs email address online somewhere!

SwimmingwiththeFishes · 31/05/2024 14:16

Let me try and find the thread...

SwimmingwiththeFishes · 31/05/2024 14:22

Hmmm, here's the thread but I actually didn't list the address. I know it's on companies house

BarcardiWithGadaffia · 31/05/2024 14:28

Could you start a conversation with the seller and try and get information from them, do you think it's someone you know? If so open an account in a fake name first

SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 14:36

@SwimmingwiththeFishes thank you!!!
@BarcardiWithGadaffia I have just tried to start a dialogue with them. Fingers crossed!!! Nothing like being an amateur sleuth!

Buy something back and see if has a return address on the parcel.

EsmeSusanOgg · 31/05/2024 14:40

Buy it back. When you have it, raise a dispute with Vinted including your crime reference number.

Hand over any details of the seller you can get to the police.

SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 14:40

@goingdownfighting is it possible to do this and then cancel? I don't especially want to give this person any more money!

OP posts:
SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 14:41

@EsmeSusanOgg there are a lot of items, and for a while the thief would then have a lot of my money I imagine, but you might be right it might be worth a try hmmm

Itsthedress · 31/05/2024 14:43

Inquire if you can collect in person? You might get an address. Then give it to Police.

sf99 · 31/05/2024 14:43

You can report the items via Vinted...

But to be honest all Vibted can do is take off post. Than the seller will go and sell on eBay, etc.

Were the items stolen from your home?

Utterly frustrating. Just thinking about the quickest way of regaining your items.

You’d be surprised. Presumably these items are unique enough that you know they are yours, of great enough value to have been a target of theft, and have some sort of identifiable marking which demonstrate they are yours? My brother successfully involved the police when he saw his stolen bicycle being sold on Gumtree, it had some unique modifications and was tagged and the police are ultimately quite interested in their metrics and closing cases as solved.

SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 14:49

@sf99 no we lent out some outfits for a charity fashion show and they were stolen from there. I own a small independent clothing shop and they have our unique bar codes on.

I have rung the police again and they have said they doubt theyll be able to get the items back but they may be able to get their ID from vinted and pay them a little visit.... Thats all I want really now I just want them to not get away with it!

jackstini · 31/05/2024 14:51

Contact them and say you want to buy them as a bundle and will collect them?

Beersforbribes · 31/05/2024 14:55

Buy them and then try to return? You’d be able to get their address that way.

Beersforbribes · 31/05/2024 14:58

You could also type their username into some of the Facebook vinted groups. if they’ve ever posted on there trying to sell, it’ll come up with their fb profile.

We pay high taxes for what, police that can't deal with a straightforward theft?!

MouseMama · 31/05/2024 16:59

Could you try to get their name and address details by making a purchase or messaging them and then file a civil claim for civil fraud such as tort of deceit against them for compensation with the evidence you have?

AllstarFacilier · 31/05/2024 17:37

Can you buy one and then when it arrives, arrange a return? Then you can pass their address on to the police. Did you report the theft at the time?

EatTheGnome · 31/05/2024 17:45

Any chance of making an appointment to pay cash in hand amd on collection and just walking off with them, telling them to call the police if they fancy their chances because they will come off worse.
