There is no way of contacting customer services... is there anything I can do I feel so angry about it.

I have gone back to the police but I don't think they have the time to deal with such a small crime. But I will keep trying! I just don't want them getting away with it! I want the police to take it seriously but I understand how busy they are :(

If they're worth a lot of money, then you could buy an item from the seller, then once you've received it, claim it is faulty and ask to return it. You'll then get sent the return address and can notify the police as the person is handling stolen goods.

Hopefully the police can take it from there...

stopringingme · 31/05/2024 18:22

@SatsumaZoom

[email protected] they are usually quite quick to respond

Buy an item using inpost HOME delivery - this is delivered by royal mail and has the sellers address on the label. - this is only an option if the seller offers this courier option.

Tagyoureit · 31/05/2024 19:51

There's [email protected] which says its for the police to contact them but it's worth a try. Good luck getting your stuff back!

if you buy off vinted, they hold the funds until you say everything is ok. you click that it isn't eg faulty, damaged etc and create a return. the seller shouldn't get your money but you should get their address, police informed, vinted refund you and voila your miss marpling is complete! and hopefully police can then also recover your other items as a bonus.

SatsumaZoom · 01/06/2024 11:33

@starrypineapple thank you! I don't shop with Vinted so I wasn't sure how it worked. Have now ordered one of the items. Fingers crossed it works!!

SatsumaZoom · 01/06/2024 13:22

@starrypineapple I will do! Annoyingly they've got ten days to post it so I have got to play the waiting game.... I will post on here as soon as I have news...

Thanks for the support! I was so frustrated yesterday but now feel like I have at least done something about finding them myself!!

You could say you want to buy a large number of the items on sale and would like to collect to reduce postage. You can say you live in the same city as their rough location is usually written there in the profile.

Well done, that must have been maddening to do.

Hopefully they'll post straight away as the CF's will surely want to offload everything asap.

Buy them all then open a dispute with vinted today they never arrived .......you should get a refund

Onemonkeyand3wisemen · 01/06/2024 14:00

EsmeSusanOgg · 31/05/2024 14:40

Buy it back. When you have it, raise a dispute with Vinted including your crime reference number.

Hand over any details of the seller you can get to the police.

Edited

Love this response.

Panpastels · 01/06/2024 14:02

I assume you've taken screenshots of all the items. I hope other items don't sell meantime. Keep us updated!

Crumpleton · 01/06/2024 14:06

I wonder if there are any other company's/small businesses this person has/is doing this to.

It could be the tip of the iceburg to bigger crimes yet the police still aren't interested.

The seller doesn't get paid until you confirm items received and all is OK. You have two days from receipt of items to do this. So even though you have paid, they won't have the money until you release it

SussexBonfireViking · 01/06/2024 17:24

sf99 · 31/05/2024 14:43

You can report the items via Vinted...

But to be honest all Vibted can do is take off post. Than the seller will go and sell on eBay, etc.

Were the items stolen from your home?

Ebay won't give a shit either

My mum was burgled, and they stole her own bloody artwork and Ebay did nothing

MN at its best 🥰

OhcantthInkofaname · 01/06/2024 18:44

I'm not sure how insurance works in the UK but were these items insured?

SatsumaZoom · 01/06/2024 19:08

@OhcantthInkofaname they were loaned out to a charity for a fashion show at the time 😳

Amx · 01/06/2024 19:10

Buy all of them otherwise they'll remove the listings once you report the first one and disappear.

Greygreyhouse · 01/06/2024 19:12

buy them

you will need to claim that ‘everything is ok’ to release the money. Claim ‘I have a problem’

Then start a dispute with Vinted

Halfheadhighlights · 01/06/2024 19:12

SatsumaZoom · 31/05/2024 14:40

@goingdownfighting is it possible to do this and then cancel? I don't especially want to give this person any more money!

You can report that there is a problem with the item and the ‘seller’ will not get the money and you’ll get a refund

Southlondoner88 · 01/06/2024 19:27

Can you see if their Instagram handle might be the same as their Vinted user name, then that might give you more information about them. I would contact Vinted customer service. Also, if you buy them and then cancel them
it means it goes off their profile for awhile which means nobody else can buy them for now.

Southlondoner88 · 01/06/2024 19:29

Oh that’s a good idea, buy them and tell Vinted they were stolen, they shouldn’t get the money and at least you can dispute the payment if you do end up getting charged. Show all your police reports and your barcodes to Vinted etc.
