To ask what your children would be called if they could choose their own name?

Inspired by the current thread about names, I thought I'd ask what your DC would like to be called if they could choose their own name?

My DC have always been OK with their names but I used to babysit for a little girl called Emily who was desperate to change her name to Angela.

Mine is only a toddler. He'd probably say 'T-rex'.

DD told me recently she wants to change her name to Isabel. I’ve got no idea why.

Asked DD (10). She thought long and hard about it and said ... My own name really ...

which is nice 😃

I don't mean her name is Nice, by the way.
I mean it's nice she likes her name!

I used to introduce myself as Angela Rachel Sarah Clare when I was five because those were the names I wanted and I couldn’t pick 😂😂

my daughter sometimes says she wishes she was her middle name (named after exMIL). But my exMIL is awful so absolutely not 🤣

Back in the day DD was cross that we hadn't named her Sophie!

I've just asked my adult son what he'd be called if it was his choice
He said " Tefal " as he'd identify as a frying pan

Belle or Rose apparently. Never in the running. The 3 year old would be Sparkleshot.

My toddler is called Rex! But would probably choose Blippi

See said what she already had. I did well.

Just asked DS11, he would be called James. He didn't even have to think about it, who knows where that has come from. It was never even a consideration.

My son is in his twenties now but when he was around 9/10 he said he wished he was called Jack. No idea what he thinks now but Jack was one of the most popular names and we'd chosen a name that is nice but much less popular so I guess he didn't want to be different!

My 7yo not many weeks ago said "How did you know I'd like the name x?" 😂 clearly he's happy with it, for now.

Just asked my 8 year old and he said his own name because it is “ a brilliant name”.

Aw it's good that there are so many children who are happy with their name.

My 5 year old dd would say Matilda my 4 year old ds would choose to be called pongo 😂

Mine changes her mind on a weekly basis. Last week’s favourite name was Amelia. This week she wishes she’d been named Ingrid.

I wanted to be called 'Dora' when I was 8. Thought it was so ... exotic.
