To ask your filthy guilty pleasure food

The cake thread got me thinking - what’s your guilty pleasure food? Something that you objectively know is total rubbish but which you can’t get enough of.

I hold my hands up to liking chicken and sweetcorn pot noodles. I very very rarely have one but just occasionally, I do get the urge.

Also, dirt cheap takeaway pizza. The kind with non-specific tasteless cheese and tomato puree.

Kraft mac'n'cheese. I know its easy and much healthier to make your own. But i just can't resist that ultra-processed radioactive shit.

summerwentaway · 29/05/2024 16:34

I will literally eat anything with butter slathered on it. Top choice is usually white bread PB sandwich with tonnes of butter.

However when I'm making food starved and raiding the fridge, I bloody love uncooked tortellini (the filled type with like spinach and ricotta in it, no meat ones obviously😂) slathered in butter. Or spoonfuls of uncooked packet rice with butter... Quite disgusting and only in private while cooking.

WoosMama13 · 29/05/2024 17:46

Microwave rice pouch, grated cheese and salad dressing. My quick, naff nutrition , go to lunch.

handsanitiser · 29/05/2024 17:52

White poppyseed bloomer (very fresh) with butter, Marmite and a layer of salt & vinegar crisps, then put another slice of bread on top. Used to be my go-to post-school snackette...

EternalSunshine19 · 29/05/2024 17:58

peanut m&m's with salt and vinegar crisps washed down with a bottle of Prosecco or 2

Some of these are just normal meals? Egg on toast, fish finger sandwich, pasta and garlic bread??

😂

SpiritOfEcstasy · 29/05/2024 18:07

Really cheap tortilla chips with salsa. The cheaper, saltier and greasier the better 🤦🏼‍♀️

EveryOtherNameTaken · 29/05/2024 18:09

I'm ravenous reading this. And getting some ideas.

Papa John's Pepperoni pizza with salt and chilli chips from the Chinese 😋 the combination is amazing

ICanFeelItComingInTheAirTonight · 29/05/2024 18:22

Cheesy chips with mint sauce.
Cheese on toast with fried egg on top.
Chicken super noodles with sliced cheese mixed in.
Cheese and ready salted crisps sandwich.
I think cheese might be my weakness.... 🤦🏼‍♀️🤣

LeggyLinda · 29/05/2024 18:38

OK. I’ll admit it. I like cheese covered in hot chocolate sauce.

Admitted it once before and was labelled a lunatic.

It has to be Stilton or danish blue mind.

For those more adventurous, you can thank me later

I have another one that you sadly cannot get any more. La Vache Qui Rit (aka Laughing Cow) used to make these tiny processed cheese cubes which came in different flavours. I remember tomato, garlic and blue cheese ones. I could eat hundreds of them. It was a bit of a ritual, pulling off the little silver wrappers and piling them up. I am very sad they are gone.

Edited

There used to be boxes of "cheese" triangles in different flavours. Like Dairylea but not Dairylea. I seem to remember only having then at Christmas - I don't know of they were a seasonal thing, or just that Mum only got them then. I remember not liking the pink ones (tomato) and others I recall were ham and also celery.

I'm in the US, LINDT Lindor Truffles any variety. But my faves are coconut, strawberries & cream, and any of the dark chocolate flavors.

My savory favorite is a prime rib on sourdough sandwich.

LaceyLou82 · 29/05/2024 18:47

Fried bacon sandwich (white bread) bloody hell.

I like to get a tin of curry (Sainsbury's do my favourites) and eat that on its own. Occasionally I'll make some rice or naan to go with it, but I'll just eat the tin by itself most of the time.

Bloody delicious.

Never eater tinned curry, but I'm contemplating a trip to Sainsbury's to remedy this...

Mine is a "sharing" (not likely) bag of Sainsbury's onion rings all to myself- the filthy bit is licking the dust from the inside of the bag once the rings are gone. I really just want a bag of the oniony dust...

Xmasdaft2023 · 29/05/2024 18:58

Another one here for the buttered rich tea biscuits 😋
Also crisps sandwiches...the crisps have to be cheese & onion flavour!

Never tried buttered rich tea but love digestive buttered with cheese 😋
