Giving myself a break by going over to PMQs. Something nobody has ever said before ever.....

Fleurdalys · 22/05/2024 12:08

She may as well go get really pissed in the lunchbreak.

AutumnCrow · 22/05/2024 12:10

Every time she says she doesn't recall something, the barrister fills in the gap with damning evidence.

So it's not really a great strategy for Vennells.

the80sweregreat · 22/05/2024 12:10

To be fair , she probably doesn't remember the things that are the most damming.. strange that

frankentall · 22/05/2024 12:12

The barrister makes an excellent point that the holes in her recollection are only in areas that benefit her.

Prawncow · 22/05/2024 12:13

Listening from the start on BBC sounds. The legal team is really excellent. The first question was beautiful - the unluckiest CEO - followed by the list of all the things they were ‘unaware of’, misunderstood or ‘didn’t see’ with the dates.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 22/05/2024 12:14

There is absolutely no comprehension of how being under the wheels of a systemic juggernaut, being David to a Goluath without the tiniest slingshot, can induce mental turmoil. Well, I'm being generous. Actually systems do not give a flying fuck about humans within them.

MikeRafone · 22/05/2024 12:15

Seems she doesn't make simple associations....

EggcornAcorn · 22/05/2024 12:16

She's not being disingenuous, oh no [bats eyelashes]

Quirkyme · 22/05/2024 12:16

The clinical way in which she is being dissected is a wonder to behold.

Sounds excellent, l love a cold clinical takedown. It’s a shame l am on a work course and can’t watch it. She’s a total disgrace and deserves everything she gets

NeverDropYourMooncup · 22/05/2024 12:18

Not fun to sit in a court and have a barrister tell you that it's your fault, you did this, nobody believes a word you say and this is evidence obtained from computer records to prove so, is it?

At least she isn't in the position of being completely innocent and having to do it. Unlike the people she stitched up.

Prawncow · 22/05/2024 12:18

I’d love to know if whoever took minutes at the board meetings kept their original notes or recordings. So much is edited out.

Quirkyme · 22/05/2024 12:19

Honestly. She might as well just get up and walk out at this point.

MagnetCarHair · 22/05/2024 12:19

It seems the answer to the majority of the questions put to her fall into a) sorry, I don't remember and b) sorry, I'm as thick as mince. It's shameful.

They'd be able to ask them personally, as the minutes will (well, should) record who clerked/minuted.

MistressoftheDarkSide · 22/05/2024 12:24

Honey, to all intents and purpose you WERE the Post Office.

chilling19 · 22/05/2024 12:24

It is astounding.

She DIDN'T KNOW that there was a 100 strong department that investigated and prosecuted their own staff for FIVE YEARS?

Quirkyme · 22/05/2024 12:25

"They asked me over 600 questions"

Oh poor me. My memory wasn't very good. Help me! Oh woe is me.

Lady, get your bag and go.

Prawncow · 22/05/2024 12:26

This only way that serious issues and legal advice wouldn’t have been presented to the board is if the CEO didn’t want it presented to the board.

She didn't know, despite being told.

It's on bbc news ( tv)
Her crocodile tears are not fooling anyone

What does the barrister do when she cries - does he just carry on or does he mention it? I need to be more clinical in some of my dealings and not be derailed by tears or worrying about upsetting people! Not that he is upsetting her, she's feeling sorry for herself.

Quirkyme · 22/05/2024 12:28

@TorroFerney

He just paused and looked at her

He told her to put her hanky down and to pull herself together, but more politely

MistressoftheDarkSide · 22/05/2024 12:29

I seriously think she should book in with her GP for a memory test...
