It's certainly different.

I actually do not dislike it at all, but I do not think it was the best option for his first official portrait.
It will look good on stamps, book covers and similar, me thinks.

My first thought was "horrible!" but it's grown on me. I think it's a good representation of his image and good on the King for going somewhat 'different'!
