My Disgusting Neighbour

BaldingMum · 17/05/2024 19:32

Terrace house with a shared passageway between mine and my neighbours houses which lead to a gate into my garden (neighbour has never put a gate up for theirs meaning their garden is fully visible to anyone walking down the passageway).

Neighbour has always hoarded in the garden, and it’s an absolute shit hole full of rotting rubbish. This has led to rats over the years which are primarily resident in his garden, although I have seen the odd one venture onto my garden leading me to put bait traps down.

Just about manageable, not ideal. However my neighbour, who has a colonoscopy bag, has started the disgusting habit of emptying his bladder on the back door step. The smell is indescribable. The flies are relentless.

My six year old child has to walk by this to get access to his garden and house (both of which are well kept and tidy).

the stickler is, my house is down hill to his, so inevitably when it rains, guess where all his body waste gets washed to.

He is completely blasé about it, doesn’t see a problem, his property etc etc. I’ve raised an environmental hazard complaint with the local council to see if they can do anything.

It stinks. It’s ruining the enjoyment of our garden. The flies are getting into our house. The rats are increasing.

WIBU to pour bleach where it’s evidentially doing this disgusting act? What the hell can I do to get this stopped?

Tbf the op hasn't posted on here since the 19th so could be busy or on holiday she clearly has stopped engaging.

So you know the op or are you just guessing about cat crap? It would be an interesting twist..

I suggest that until she has had a reply from The Council/Police/Whoever there isnt anything to post about.

I hope however that she is good enough to update us when she has something to report

If environmental health still haven't responded go to your local councillor and tell them. They are supposed to represent your concerns, get them moving on this!

EH won't respond if the rats are attracted to the cat poo from OPs animals.

HollyKnight · 28/05/2024 18:21

This thread took a turn.

Even if cats are shitting in his garden, him emptying piss into a flower pot isn't going to scare away cats.

I don't know OP but I do recognise this person posting from the descriptions and I know there is cat poo involved which is very unpleasant for the person having to deal with the rats. That's all I can say I'm afraid. There's always two sides.

Interesting.

Well maybe he's thinking tit for tat as it were. Excrement left in gardens isn't nice for anyone be it from a cat's bum or a urostomy bag. Though I'm sure if the op had 3 cats crapping and wee'ing in his garden she'd have mentioned it. Surely they'd be at risk from his air rifle if nothing else.

It would make more sense to throw the cat shit back into her garden. I think PP is confused. There is nothing that indicates this is a cat issue. It's say hoarded crap and piles of rotting rubbish is enough to attract rats.

HauntedPencil · 28/05/2024 20:57

I've lived in the city amoungst cats my whole life, I've had other cats poop in my garden I have never known hordes of rats to come into anyone's garden that are so bad I need to mark my territory with my own piss and shoot them.

Seems a bit erm, extreme?

BaldingMum · 01/06/2024 00:53

Wow…. Having just returned from a lovely half term trip abroad I thought I’d check in on this. I had every intention on replying in detail but I would just like to clear one thing up…

I DON’T HAVE ANY BLOODY CATS….

WTF did that come from? I’ve never posted once about cats?? On any thread.

The complete irony is, my neighbours cat shits in my flower bed. But I discard of that responsibly so my DS doesn’t accidentally touch it.

What I struggle to get rid off is a litre of human piss that gets dumped on the joint entrance to my property.

Jesus wept someone give EngageBrain a vitamin.

I caught him doing it last night when I was in the garden about half 9. I heard him come out, and then I heard liquid hitting the ground.

I couldn’t help myself so I just opened the gate and stared at him. He tried to turn sideways to hide what he was doing but it was obvious, as clear ad anything.

I let rip, said it was a disgusting and completely selfish thing to do. Told him it absolutely stinks and pointed out the flies. He tried to say it was an emergency, which I shot down straight away as complete and utter bollocks.

I pointed at the flower pot (he was doing it next to the bins this time) that still contained his vile stagnant piss from 12 hours earlier. Pointed out the stained path where he’s done it god only knows how many times.

I asked him where does he think his piss washes to whilst pointing at my house. Told him it’s a complete health hazard and to pack it in at once, before slamming my gate shut and walking away.

He did try to mutter sorry and he wouldn’t do it again… but we’ll see…!

An emergency? What crap. The urine goes into the bag, there won’t be an “emergency”. He just needs to empty it regularly down the toilet!

WiddlinDiddlin · 01/06/2024 04:11

Emergencys with a leg back and some (any) type of catheter very much do exist - the bag can split, the bladder can back up if theres no more room in the bag (bloody painful), the cath can bypass (where depends on what type but any bypass is messy).

Do you think the human body stops producing piss when the bag is full?

I don't doubt the old guy is going about it wrong, and things could be improved, but I still don't think 'letting rip' at him is the way to cause change, nor is pretending that living with a catheter is easy peasy!

That’s irrelevant. Any emergency should be dealt with inside his house.

Nice bit of victim blaming there

@Engagebrain so where does OP’s cats come into it, the ones you convinced everyone she has??? You’re clearly either the disgusting behaviour old man or one of his relatives. Would you like piss all over your garden and property? It’s very easy for this man to empty his piss into his toilet .. not on his neighbours property to deter his neighbours non existent cats 🤔

OP has clearly said she hasn’t, and seems very confused as to why you say she has…

Change2banon · 01/06/2024 11:59

But even if she does have them .. does that really give her neighbour the right to pour his bodily fluids over her property?? You’re weird for thinking that’s okay …

What a strange response. You’re clearly on the wind up and must be very bored.
Feel free to take your stirring pot to a different thread, you’ll get no further response from me.

All you other wonderful posters, thank you so much for all the help and advise you’ve provided. Please ignore the wind up merchant.

what? 😂😂😂. You are clearly on the wind up. I’ve nursed many many many people with catheters it’s just as easy to empty it down the toilet . May have Alzheimer’s? Are you for real. I think the daughter might have mentioned it 😂😂.

Despite people wanting to put a label on every lazy, disgusting or rude person out there sometimes they are just that - Lazy, disgusting and rude.

The daughter might not have realised if he's in the early stages. My mother was diagnosed aged 53, she used to do things you would label disgusting but she had no idea what she was doing! Have a heart...
