To think friends decor is gross?

Stayed at a friends house this weekend with mutual friends and they raved about how nice her living room is and I was baffled.

It’s an extremely dark grey with one wall with equally dark grey wallpaper. Brown sofas and a yellow armchair. Huge jar with pampas grass. Grey carpet with a cream rug. Black plastic tv stand, concrete side tables.

She must think my deco is gross and shit. But I genuinely was so baffled by their reaction.

Is this what mean girls do after they leave school?

I hope she doesn’t see this. She’d definitely recognise her sitting room.

How are you baffled? Everyone likes different things, I wouldn't of thought that was baffling in the slightest.

Me! It was here when I purchased the house. I'm not ripping out a completely healthy, huge plant. I really doubt Irene and Cecil who lived here before were swingers, but you never know.

I bet it's nice and cosy , I'm looking at houses and everything is bland, white and sterile, It sounds like she has gone to some effort to make a room she actually likes, which is what decorating your home is all about.

My mum had pampas grass in our front garden. Would explain why all us siblings look very different to one another.

It sounds fine and like she's made an effort. Ive complimented other friends of mine in a yellow armchair. I would never slag off a friend's home like this. Thinking about it lots of people don't have show homes and I'm just glad to go round and have fun with good people.
