Just an ice cream - just a warning then to CM.

Anything else and she is out on her ear and never works in your town again.

Am sniggering at this though moondog...how did this happen? Were the DC really excited to tell you or rather sheepish?

FAQ · 03/04/2008 20:15

my BF took DS2 to play with her DD after nursery today, she was going to give them lunch. She told me they'd be having pasta in a homemade cheese sauce..........they went to KFC - and had ice cream afterwards !

Fullmoonfiend · 03/04/2008 20:15

look, if they've any sense (or taste) they won't have eaten the crappy food anyway...

It is kinda funny though...sorry

WideWebWitch · 03/04/2008 20:15

Did they get toppings?

glucose · 03/04/2008 20:15

If ice cream was from cornershop/ice cream van it would it be a problem?

moondog · 03/04/2008 20:15

And to think that I sent them to her with lovingly prepared lunch of steamed brown rice and tuna in olives and tomatoes with capers! She has made me a laughing stock.

I'm taking the bitch to court.

nancy75 · 03/04/2008 20:15

thats life kiddo

moondog · 03/04/2008 20:16

Shall ask about toppings. We do go to the loo sometimes. Dd lingers longingly in 'kiddy korner' as i brusquely usher them onwards, shuddering as i do so.

What any CM worth their salt would have done was get them there before 10.30 a.m so they could have had the pancakes with "sausage" and maple syrup. That's worth getting up and out of the house early for.

Nappyzone · 03/04/2008 20:16

Ooooooooo maccys icecream - yum yum - my freind worked at a maccy dees and said those machines are notorious for not being able to be cleaned very well .

Habbibu · 03/04/2008 20:17

MacDonald's icecream is horrible. That's a haranguing offence at least.

WigWamBam · 03/04/2008 20:17

She should never work again. Negligent cow.

Dd is nearly seven, and has never been to McDonalds. She still thinks it's something to do with a guy who owns a farm.

I wonder how long I can get away with that for?

NicMac · 03/04/2008 20:17

My boys (twins ages 5) went for the first time ever to a party. They had to find Ronald McDonald on a drawing but didn't know who he was. They then asked for a fork to eat their fries....

Saveme · 03/04/2008 20:18

Oh the snobbery on this site is ridiculous.

Buda · 03/04/2008 20:18

LOL!

Slippery slope, slippery slope!

Slight hijack - Bree - I have gotten into the habit of taking DS to the McD's in Dublin Airport every time we fly back to Budapest. Unfortunately we seem to go back a lot! Last time I was hungover as anything having been out the previous night with my sisters - at the Parlour Bar in Clontarf (used to be the Hollybrook Hotel). Never again. Flying with a hangover is not good.

moondog · 03/04/2008 20:18

Dd didn't even look guilty!!!!

OP posts:
Janni · 03/04/2008 20:18

If you had not explicitly told the childminder that you did not want your children taken into fast food restaurants ever, under any circumstances, then you are being unreasonable.

If you made this clear to her and she still did it then you should start making alternative childcare arrangements.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 03/04/2008 20:18

I am going to nominate your thread title for "quote of the week"

glucose · 03/04/2008 20:19

moondog
good luck finding a CM you are happy with

moondog · 03/04/2008 20:20

Childminder should know FGS!!!

I am a child of the earth and a warrior against twin evils of consumerism and capitalism.

FFS, how many other peopel send their children off with lunches of ceviche and mango?????

OP posts:
Octothechildherder · 03/04/2008 20:21

unknownrebelbang · 03/04/2008 20:21

You do know this is the funniest thread for a long time, don't you??

Ceolas · 03/04/2008 20:21

It's not snobbery. It's people chuckling up their sleeves at the irony!
