To ask … where sells nice clothes for little boys?

When DS was a baby and younger toddler I went high end: JoJo, Boden, Fat Face even, to get nice clothes that weren’t covered in dinosaurs.

He is now 3 and I’m struggling a bit. Supermarkets are dominated by black, grey and khaki or garish colours and dinosaurs still prevail. (DS has no real interest in them.)

Wondering where I might not have looked as I could do with updating his summer wardrobe. I don’t want him to look like a girl but just not dull stuff or ugly stuff!

Matalan?

TheBirdintheCave · 08/05/2024 16:23

We don't do character or print stuff for our three year old son and find that H&M is good for plain things. We got some solid colour chino shorts, cardigans and stripey t shirts which all look smart :)

Next have some nice sets. Zara tee and the linen shorts would be a nice classic look.

I’ve briefly looked at Matalan and it did seem to be Disney / Marvel / dinosaurs … haven’t looked at H & M, will report back 😂

H & M, Zara, Next. You'll still find a few bits with dinosaurs but less so!

lij8793 · 08/05/2024 16:27

I like H&M best. Also seen quite a few nice bits in our local Morrisons (a few months ago so might be a different season/styles now) which I wasn't expecting!

butonlyone · 08/05/2024 16:28

H & M is looking very … blue. Not that there’s anything wrong with blue but a bit of colour wouldn’t go amiss!

Morrisons do sometimes have lovely things but it’s just bloody dinosaurs at the moment or it was in our local store yesterday!

Next have lovely legging an t-shirt / jumper sets and also look at lindex , they do great patterns on leggings and tees

AIBunnecessary · 08/05/2024 16:29

Zara had some gorgeous younger boys bits as does marks and Spencer's.

peanutbuttertoasty · 08/05/2024 16:30

Kidly?

Newuser75 · 08/05/2024 16:36

Fred and Noah!

buttnut · 08/05/2024 16:38

Boden do bigger kids sizes as well. I get a lot of my 7-year-old boys things from there.

User500000000023 · 08/05/2024 16:38

if you want bright colours have you looked at frugi, mini rodini, John Lewis and little bird (next).

We shop at Boden, fat face, joules, Zara and Marks and Spencer's. We also buy from Fred & Noah and popsyandmama. We also don’t want things with dinosaurs/ cars all over.

bakewellfizz · 08/05/2024 16:39

Have you tried handmade clothing companies? That's where I used to buy from once I stopped buying jojo and frugi. Mine is dactylandbear but there are lots of others out there and on Etsy!

Samlewis96 · 08/05/2024 16:41

Is there still monsoon? Used to get clothes for my DS there at times when he was little as had unusual bits

HAF1119 · 08/05/2024 16:41

If you want to go fun in the colours you want - maybe pick his face colours in the dye and get some cheap white t shirts from fruit of the loom and let him make his own 🙂 mine loves that but then... mine seems to model himself on blippi and just wants to wear whatever is brightest!

Devilsmommy · 08/05/2024 16:42

@butonlyone I took hate all the dinosaur stuff. My favourite for my little boy is Next. Really good quality and they wash really well and don't fade or lose shape. Yeah it costs slightly more than supermarket stuff but it's worth it as it lasts longer too. Though saying that I've managed to get plain tees for £3 and shorts for £6 so not much difference to supermarket actually.

MaltipooMama · 08/05/2024 16:42

Next is definitely my favourite for boys clothing!

ButtonMoonBlanketSky · 08/05/2024 16:43

Definitely Next. They have some lovely things in nice cheerful colours.

HAF1119 · 08/05/2024 16:44

Etsy also a good shout - next has a lot of variety. My kiddo likes 'little bird' brand as there's colour - some more garish than others.

Topbird29 · 08/05/2024 16:44

Used to use Next, M & S, sainsburys TU and mountain warehouse is quite good for different colours.

Annabellouise · 08/05/2024 16:46

Have you tried Benetton? They have a nice toddler range

Ineedaholidayyyy · 08/05/2024 16:47

@butonlyone if you want a splash of colour , Next is the best for that.

Reversypercypig · 08/05/2024 16:48

I was in M&S yesterday, loads of nice colours and patterns.
