Has anyone else seen this ? 🤣 family leave bad review about a waitress because their child was crying so much she suggested they move onto the heated patio, instead they left and then emailed in the review and also left it on google it looks like.

The waitress has had it printed onto a t shirt and it's gone insanely viral.

She said she had an ocular migraine and it wasn't her best day at work, but other customers were looking at her to do something about the crying toddler so she suggested they move outside (in November ) and they left.

I'd be so embarrassed I left such a review and now the entire internet has seen it printed on a shirt.

A bit odd to print it out on a t shirt - and that would make me wonder if the waitress is empathetic at all? And implies she was rude and didn’t handle the situation well at all.

and the reviewer was right to complain.

An ocular migraine would affect her balance, cause light sensitivity and affect her actual eyesight so since she was working - I doubt she actually had one.

So all in all - not a good look for the waitress. She seems to love a bit of pisstakey drama and then a sob story to get out of it.

I have ocular migraines, they don't affect my balance or cause light sensitivity. They just make the vision in one eye go really weird and wavy for a short period. They wouldn't affect how I talk to a customer in any way.

I don't think the waitress meant to stay and eat outside, but to take the toddler outside to calm down. If my child would scream uncontrollably, I would do my best to remove him from the situation if it starts making everyone uncomfortable. and I definitely had my fair share screaming child at episodes. It's not cool for anyone, including me.

Taking a crying toddler outside to calm down, so you’re not disrupting everyone else’s meal, used to be called parenting.

At no point does “parenting” involve a waitress telling a mum and toddler to eat outside because she “has a headache”. What “used to happen” is the staff would ask what they could do to help.

Moral of the story, don’t allow your child to ruin everyone else’s experience, and take them out beforehand. I remember when parents were aware, and courteous.

If the waitress felt ill with a bad migraine, she should have gone home. She sounds like a bit of an attention seeker to me and her T. Shirt makes her look like a twat.

I rarely complain. I don't know the last time I did tbh. Everyone has bad days. But, I'm with you on this one. The waitress already references her migraine. And like you say,she then pulls this attention seeking stunt. Ridiculous attention seeking behaviour. Grow up Demi.

I know crying babies are annoying but we don't really know the full details here. The fact Demi printed this t shirt says to me the complainant probably had good reason to complain about her and how she dealt with this. I very much doubt it was a kind, polite and apologetic suggestion. Even though the suggestion itself is a bit off.

I don't know how places can best deal with this if all the other eaters are complaining.

The suggestion to take your child, who is disturbing other patrons, outside to calm down is a bit off? Why?

I have no time for these ‘oooh poor me, I had a bad time’ reviews. Don’t be so bloody soft. And DEAL with stuff. Don’t sulk and then get your cowardly revenge in a bad review. 🙄

Because it was November.

We won't ever know the true story because we weren't there but how about just asking if there's anything at all they can do to help.

I'm making assumptions ( as we all are), based on the info available.

My assumption is that Demi is probably a bit of a dick - based on the t-shirt and covering herself with the ' I had a migraine' line. So my guess will be not much else was suggested other than take crying baby outside in the cold. That to me is off.

As with every post like this, we'll never know and all we're doing is judging and speculating 🤷‍♀️😃

The waitress seemed immature, imagine drawing attention to the fact that you didn't handle the situation very well, I don't get it.

Pathetic and unprofessional. It’s like walking around with a sign that says ‘my attitude stinks, I can behave how I like and get away with it’

Rp735 · 08/05/2024 10:21

Where would she sport the Tshirt, I wonder. To work, to intimidate customers ? Socially to continue mocking the long gone customers? Clearly this was done to get attention and shows her in a very poor light. Even if it was the parents' fault on the actual day, she isn't a good person either. In a conflict both parties can be wrong too.
