The past election/PM changes have been horrendous. The visceral disappointment was awful each time.

I can’t wait to actually celebrate this year. I know, I know, Labour are going to set fire to the economy and tax everyone £3mil each and it’ll cost you 4 trillion a month to send you kid to private school, and all women will perish immediately because only Tories know what a woman is Hmm

But finally! It’s been a long fucking time coming.

Ha ha ha ha!

You don't want to debate at all.

And you clearly have no sense of humour.

Sorry to puncture your balloon.

Do you mean Quentin ‘Noman’ Cook? The same one who has stated in interviews that he detested being middle class and wanted to be working class, saying his big hope was ‘to go on the dole’…you know, to role play at being working class and take risks because he’s alway got the safety net of middle class parents to fall back on. Unlike Starmer. I’d expect being surrounded by that system made him even more determined to work hard and get himself to a position where he could actually make a difference.

Beautifully put!

The only people who throw insults around on here are vehement Labour supporters. The rest of us can debate in a civilised manner.

💯It’s always the case 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don't think that Susan Hall's way of debating her political position against Sadiq Khan's was especially kind, actually. Given that she joined at least 6 different Facebook groups to denounce him, including some horrific racist language and wishing that he'd been taken out like Princess Diana Shock

Thegoodbadandugly · 05/05/2024 22:04

I can't believe for the life of me that people are actually still voting Tory, are they absolutely crazy?

There were also Frank Hester’s comments about Diane Abbott. Those were lovely.

Is it civilised debate to keep repeating the same lie?

I've heard they're planning on marooning us all on the moon, but the Tories are going to give us all a bag of gold.

I’m a Labour supporter on here - no insults from me. Let me know if you’d like to debate further your misleading comments on Starmer being privately educated; the clumsy comparison of Starmer to Quentin ‘Norman’ Cook and/or your response to my question on whether a nurse and a toolmaker could currently afford to send their child to state school?

Bululu · 05/05/2024 22:15

Gosh Labour voters are so emotional. The swearing and passion is something else in these posts. They can literally commit murder 🤣🤣🤣

BIWI · 05/05/2024 22:16

Possibly because we actually care about other people, @Bululu?

HauntedBungalow · 05/05/2024 22:16

It doesn't feel like 1997 in that I'm not overly optimistic - after all, the money's gone, my European citizenship has gone, the UK generally is in decline.

So we can't stop the slide.

But, we can do things so that the people with the least wealth and power aren't quite as savagely hammered as they have been under the tories. So we need to get the tories out.

What is ‘European citizenship’? Where has it gone?

Bululu · 05/05/2024 22:20

Nah you all need to be told that politicians are politicians and most of you are just quite naive.

You're either being obtuse or ignorant there.

As a carer for my disabled spouse, I do find Labour's stance a bit concerning. But let's see what is in the manifesto. Nothing is yet decided.

However, the Tories have basically declared outright war on disabled people and have a long record (14 years) of hounding them. It is funny how Tory voters on this thread suddenly make out they care about disabled people.

who are the Tory voters on this thread?

It's shocking.

Also the Green Party are bringing in mandatory seal pup clubbing.

Only the Tories can save us

It seems that the latest tactic is to say people planning to vote Labour are mean name callers.
