Just curious. I’ll be voting for them reluctantly but I’m not really sure what can or will be done about the state of the country. It seems we’re skint so they’ll just have to tinker around the edges.

Yes thanks we already are. The ISC state the 34% and they are the ones representing independent schools so have accurate data.

If it is any help, this Saturday evening I am mostly laughing at posters who haven't noticed the local election results.

The long winter evenings must just fly by round at yours, eh

No. I think it's contemptible that the Tories are planning to play their own version of Game of Thrones when they're supposed to be running the country. Again.🙄

How can people vote for Sunak's Tory party when we know it'll be someone else's Tory party that will govern?

How are they playing game of thrones? There’s no suggestion at this point that he’ll be ousted. What is the point you are trying to make?

Is Sunak trying to govern at the moment?

I must have missed that.

There’s every suggestion. The plotting to get rid of him has been top of the news for weeks. The bookies have Mordaunt hot favourite for next leader - if she retains her seat.

Well if they do (and the consensus in the press today is against it) then Sunak won’t lead into the GE. Either way the point makes no sense

The ISC? Did you see the rubbish they put out when private schools were shamelessly pushing up CAGs and TAGs a few years ago?

So he won’t be in Downing Street either way - which was precisely my point.

I enjoyed her conference speech about fighting, who or what she was fighting I am not sure? Possibly martians?

You have missed the point of my post

vast majority could not save anything like £5k then continue to spend £15k a year it’s behind peoples budgets and that is not down to choices it’s the cost of everyday living

honestly I have never heard such tone deaf discussions around money as I have in a prep school playground

This ⬆️, completely tone deaf!

Surely they should have been proud of their members doing what they are paid to do- get the students the best possible results. It is such advantages that parents are paying for after all.

There's no suggestion he'll be ousted? Have you been following the news? They're just waiting until the GE to get rid of him.

I wasn’t addressing your point though. I was querying the other poster who seemed to be suggesting if you vote for Sunak they’ll replace him if he wins, which is mad.
once again you waded in while completely missing the point. This does seem to be becoming a habit, doesn’t it?

It was the blatant denial of what was glaringly obvious to everyone and brazening it out that was quite something to behold. I don't know how they had the nerve to defend some of the examples. There was certainly a tangible payback on school fees in certain schools in those assessed grade years.

If he loses I’ve no doubt they will, but that doesn’t mean there’s anything duplicitous in him continuing as leader now, which PP seemed to be suggesting

We all know how much Labour depends on Trade Union donations eg. around £6.9m in 2020 and 2021 to £5.3m in 2022

What many people don’t know is how ‘captured’ the TU’s are to ‘gender ideology’.

Perhaps this goes some way to explaining Starmers’ inexplicable behaviour towards some women in his own party, and towards his stance on some women having penises?

Have there been any elections recently that we could use to judge how much the public care about whether political parties have been captured or not?

Ok he doesn’t completely, but he wants to. It’s so typical of men of his type. Intensely cautious and small c conservative in their entire approach to life, but desperate to convince themselves they are interesting, progressive and radical.
You’re a dry dusty old white male barrister, Keir. Deal with it
