Just curious. I’ll be voting for them reluctantly but I’m not really sure what can or will be done about the state of the country. It seems we’re skint so they’ll just have to tinker around the edges.

Be like a broken record saying it’s not our fault and constant bitching about tories

rather than ploughing on and actually doing something
it will be everyone else fault they can’t put any of there ideas they’ve banged on about from the comfort of the opposition bench

tbf every party is the same when they take over from the opposition

I genuinely think they will shit themselves when they actually has the responsibility of making things happen because everyone will have massive expectations of them

Interesting reply as I've seen many of your posts on other political threads - got very much impression it was all the promised land of milk and honey with you and finger wagging at any who suggest different.

Maybe given council elections firming up the poll data mean a more realistic narrative can occur on here.

I don't support Labour and have never lauded them as a panacea for all our ills. Have you mixed me up with somebody else?Confused

But at the moment, the Sunak government is pushing back, and much has been achieved. So if he wins, that will continue - one very cogent reason to prefer him over Starmer, who still won’t expand on his theory about women with penises, the little tease

You might not have noticed but they've been casting round the edges for votes like crazy.

EasternStandard · 04/05/2024 18:51

Desecratedcoconut · 04/05/2024 18:46

Ooh, how exciting for you. How wonderful it'll be when there is no opposition to gender woo and when women who recognize that sex is immutable and important are completely disenfranchised.

Odd isn’t it how keen they are

Marjoriefrobisher · 04/05/2024 18:54

JessS1990 · 04/05/2024 18:47

Sunak who has said that a women is whatever Johnson says it is?

Does Sunak's pushing back explain his party's performance in the elections on Thursday?

A certain determination to dodge the point here. The difficulty you have is that the government appears to have a settled direction on this issue now (late in the day, but better late than never). Starmer and his useful idiots are fully signed up genderists. Let’s hope for their sake the public continues not to notice.

Unlike the left, I am not too concerned about the purity of people’s motivations. It’s the outcome that counts.

Thanks for engaging with that stuff saved me looking

VAT on education is doing a lot of heavy lifting. It’ll be interesting to see how that funds it all.

Plus securing the borders? Anyone have a clue, does Labour?

Look look VAT on education is going to solve a Lot of issues. They Promised. And they looked earnest when they said it. Well not really but people think they did. It must be real. Yey! All the cash they’re getting from taxing those rich people!

But what if all the rich people decide to send their children to plebs schools? Oh mon Dieu look what happens 🙈. But it doesn’t matter, we’ve punished those unfairly rich rich folk! Well done us.

*photos from PP on MN thread, thank you for the data.
*I’m using the word plebs facetiously, before anyone has an apoplectic fit. I went to an awful state school. But I know there are some good ones. Either way the gvt needs to focus on improving state school education not wasting time on useless policies that don’t work. Mind you it’s not as if they’ve published a manifesto yet. All we know is that they think some women have penises.

Are you including Labours 1140 recently elected councillors as useful idiots?
Odd how that is over double the number of Tory councillors elected.

BIossomtoes · 04/05/2024 18:49

So if he wins

😂

Again you miss the point, which relates to the fact that on this issue there is clear blue water between tories and Labour, which, for those that care about it, may guide their choice.

Even if Sunak does win the GE, he will still be out the next day. Penny TWAW Mordaunt will probably succeed him. TBH I think it's disgraceful that the Tories are going into a GE when they know he's going just after. It's pure contempt for the electorate.

So you think they shouldn’t contest the election and hand the reins over without one? What a strange idea.

If the motivation is entirely to get votes and no intention to actually do anything after the GE then I'm concerned.

They've come out with very much culture wars aligned stuff that they have literally presided over for 14 years and then when it looks like they're going to lose then they start giving a shit.

I've got this bridge going for an absolute steal if you're interested?

I haven’t missed the point at all. I’m laughing at anyone thinking it’s likely that Sunak will remain in Downing Street - today, of all days.

It's academic though. Tories clearly haven't got a snowball's chance in hell in the GE.

Right, I can't imagine how you could summon so much glee at the diminished prospect of women being represent honestly and fairly in politics, policies and institutions and women having fewer avenues to oppose it, but Boots is over every thread rubbing her hands.

There isn't a whole lot of evidence that the Tories are really trying to compete with Labour any more. They seem a whole lot more focussed on arguing with themselves and their former colleagues at Reform.

Obviously I should have said possible, not likely.

Although there’s a few keen on gender ideology on these threads so seems a Labour thing

I think it is important to remember that if everyone who didn't vote did vote, they would have all voted Tory and also But Jeremy Corbyn, Keir had a beer, someone knows a woman and Rayner is very naughty.

No. I think it's contemptible that the Tories are planning to play their own version of Game of Thrones when they're supposed to be running the country. Again.🙄

How can people vote for Sunak's Tory party when we know it'll be someone else's Tory party that will govern?

If it is any help, this Saturday evening I am mostly laughing at posters who haven't noticed the local election results.
