Vans

The clothing label.
Not the vehicles.
DS wants Vans clothes.
All his mates wear Vans.
Apparently it's a really cool label.
DH says its a skateboard label and only skateboarders should wear Vans clothes, anyone else will look stupid.
DS is not, and never will be, a skateboarder.
I say you can wear Vans even if you're not a skateboarder.
Anyone with any inside info on this?
Which one of us is BU?

Tight controlling twat.

DH says he's not tight and in fact is prepared to spend a lot of money on DS's clothes.

Well it’s definitely controlling if he not letting a teenage boy choose his own clothes. Dose he tell you what you can and can’t wear?

I wear vans clothing all the time. Anyone can.

DH says this is another nail in the coffin for Vans clothes.

He was once a teen and he knows full well that it’s important they develop their own identity and can wear the clothes they choose. I note he doesn’t say he’s not controlling or a twat, just not tight.

I only really wear my pyjamas, so it's not really an issue.

Who made your DH boss of the fashion police?

Jellykat · 26/04/2024 22:11

Wind up

Edenmum2 · 26/04/2024 22:14

I would kindly tell your husband that his fashion knowledge may be a little outdated and your son can wear what he likes regardless.

Even if his statement was true (it's not) - he shouldn't be policing what your son wears based on what others might think

Sure you do...

Is this an attempt to create a 'hilarious' thread and end up in classics?

ClumsyPickle · 26/04/2024 22:23

My son actually is a skateboarder and doesn't really like Vans clothing! It lost some appeal within his group when it opened stores in shopping centres and outlet places

User56785 · 26/04/2024 22:27

The Bunnifords sound like a delightful couple.

FeatheryStroker · 26/04/2024 22:28

Why are the pair of you so critical of what your teenager wants to wear? My teenagers wear whatever they want. They don't have to have my approval.

Your DH sounds like a twat.

GreyBlackLove · 26/04/2024 22:36

Cool first post. An arse husband, some thinly veiled misogyny and you only wear pjs. Lovely.

DH says it's probably more like because people's mothers started wearing Vans after what he's read here this evening!

Yes, I do.
I rarely go out, so I am rarely out of my pyjamas. They're comfy.
What have my pyjamas got to do with Vans?

Thank you.
At least you're being nice.
Others here aren't, sadly.

He can wear whatever he wants? DH is being unreasonable.
My 13 yo DD has a vans school bag because it's a popular brand with teenagers, she's not a skateboarder
