70s bush envy

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

Oh hit a nerve?

If you can't discuss it politely, you've lost the argument.

Why does a lesbian want to be more like a man when they don't like men?

Edited

Politeness to idiots is another thing thats expected of women that should be consigned to the bins of wishful thinking.

For the pp saying that the hair is meant to be there and removing it can cause issues. Is this only bush hair or do you take the same view on any hair removal?

I personally would find it a bit grim to see pubes poking out of someones swim wear on holiday, or a women with long dark leg or underarm hair. I am a bit of a prude but im quite surprised at how many people here seem to like pubic hair!!

Do you find it grim to see body hair on men too?

If I had completely free choice, I would not remove any hair ever. I do shave my legs if I’m wearing a skirt/shorts, but only because I know there are people like you around who think I’m ‘grim’.

Polishedshoesalways · 24/04/2024 15:19

It’s incredible that men aren’t expected to have their fur ripped out on a regular basis and pay for the pleasure.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 24/04/2024 15:21

I don't trust you. Nobody should. Stupid ignorance is nothing worth paying attention to.

JanglingJack · 24/04/2024 15:21

Originally it's there, like all hair, to protect from infection. Same with eye brows and eyelashes.

I used to be so hairy that it was hard work trimming to get in a swim suit. Armpits like a 70s Leo Sayer.

Hit 40 and it's gradually thinned out. A few greys sprinkled about. Definitely easier. Less hair on legs too.

Big toes however... Fucking Hobbit feet!

LadySugar · 24/04/2024 15:21

You were influenced by society, @Verv, cope.

Women today waxing themes levels because they're bfs think hair is gross and manly influence their decisions.

I left my armpit & leg hair to grow for ages to see how I felt & it took a while to be OK about it. It's pure conditioning, there's zero reason for it not to be OK that women have body hair. As a rule, it's fine for men, but not women. It's only that way cos it's what we are told, no other reason, else we wouldn't grow it.

Men have reclaimed facial hair, for the most part, there is no reason for them not to have it if they want it. But women are definitely still looked down on if they have hairy anything but for their heads.

I shaved the armpits cos I use roll on & a) it gets pinchy & b) perimenopausal sweating didn't agree with hairy pits.

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

Hmm. I generally don't remember usernames but, if I recall correctly, this particular poster is male and was spreading misinformation about breastfeeding. Interesting that he also has a preference for the prepubescent look of no pubic hair on women.

So the question is - does he remove his own pubic hair or is it only women who are expected to sport the prepubescent look?

ginasevern · 24/04/2024 15:23

I thought this thread was going to be about Kate Bush in the 1970's. Yes, I am that old and no I've never shaved my pubes, except for the bits that show when I wear a bikini.

No. I'm influenced by sensation.
You cope.

Allfur · 24/04/2024 15:24

A bit like men who say condoms ruin sex

LadySugar · 24/04/2024 15:25

*well unless you are still 12, you've clung onto some behaviour that you started as a child and have had time to change.

I can understand that some very young girls freak out at their developing bodies and think 'yuck' when they sprout hair, but usually they grow out of it (and the hair grows too.)*

Yeah, this is what I think @DeliciouslyDecadent. Mostly for those actively disgusted by hair than people who don't mind, but for whatever reason prefer to be bald.

Sam applies to people disgusted by armpit hair on women. It's totally fine to want to shave, to look neater or whatever, but society plays a role if you can't simply accept hair for what it is and are tucked out by your natural state

You think scalping your fanny is looking after yourself 😂😂😂

Wonder who made you think that way.

Au naturel all the way

Can you not take care of yourself and have pubic hair 🤔

Verv · 24/04/2024 15:39

DeliciouslyDecadent · 24/04/2024 15:13

You're misinterpreting.

I am happy for any woman to do what she wants.

I don't buy into the idea it's 'vile' and I don't see how women can 'feel' the hair and that by removing it it makes them less female.

Nobody apart from you has said anything about hair removal making them less female.

You're conflating femininity with femaleness. They are different things.

God people are so freaked out by natural bodies, it's pathetic.

ABwithAnItch · 24/04/2024 15:43

Omg you can have mine. I don’t think it’s gross per se but it just drives me crazy.

KimberleyClark · 24/04/2024 15:46

I used to have a bush but half of it fell out when I developed an underactive thyroid and never grew back. My eyebrows thinned slightly too and stopped trying to meet in the middle. Didn’t mind that. Hair on head unaffected thank goodness.

MalvernHillbilly · 24/04/2024 15:48

Josette77 · 24/04/2024 11:57

It's not.
Almost every lesbian I know is hairless.
I go between bald and bushy, my partner is always trimmed.

That said I've been with men and women and if you are getting a mouth full of hair you might be doing it wrong

I’ve been merrily having sex with other women for over 35 years and have yet to encounter anyone who’s pruned any bush outside of their garden. Nor has anyone made any complaint about my lack of bodily horticulture.

AM1994 · 24/04/2024 15:51

I always used to wax and that is my preference until I kept getting thrush, stopped waxing and the thrush stopped so have found I need to keep mine and have gotten used to it, just have a trim to stay tidy

EatCrow · 24/04/2024 15:52

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:41

Personally, I also find the no hair look a bit strange. But then of course I would because of my busy envy 😁

It’s interesting that you’re keeping your envy busy! 😄

Your issues sound more like a skin condition and would benefit from a GP appointment.

Are you having a laugh? I have discharge. That’s normal. I have coarse hair on my labia, that’s also normal.

When course damp hair is repeatedly rubbed on sensitive skin for 8+ hours at a time the skin can become irritated- that isn’t a medical issue, it’s the nature of friction and skin.
