70s bush envy

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:34

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

It’s honestly disgusting that getting a wax because you prefer it makes you and your partner pedophiles in some peoples opinions on here 😬🤣

It would be offensive if it wasn’t laughable. We are all presumably adults with adult genitalia and the thought that anyone one heres partners could confuse that for that of a child just because it’s bald is ridiculous. Just because you don’t understand the thought process or couldn’t see yourself doing it doesn’t make women that do like it ‘conforming to Mens ideals’ or ‘pedophile tendency’s’.
Honestly 🤣
P.S I get a rash and really sore broken skin when my hair grows so I get that pubic hair has a purpose but it doesn’t for me 🤣

Cismyfatarse · 25/04/2024 18:48

I just mow the borders but the bush grows free. Age has led to a few patchy bits but I am experimenting with a comb over.

Harls1969 · 25/04/2024 19:08

I hear you OP. My pubic hair has always been very disappointing. No amount of careful trimming has ever made it look neat and cared for, just wild and a bit sparse (I do have a good, thick head of hair up top though so I'm grateful for that).

SocksAmnesia · 25/04/2024 19:10

@MoonWoman69 , that is one of the most beautiful and funny things I have ever read. You are one witty woman.

DisabledDemon · 25/04/2024 19:34

TheChosenTwo · 24/04/2024 11:38

Yanbu if that’s what you want. I prefer to keep mine to a minimum (it’s still there 😂 just short and neat!!).
How would a wig fit? With a head wig it adheres in a way that’s ergonomic, with a vaj wig gravity would defy it!

You attach it to a nude g-string with glue.

(I only know this because I used to work in the theatre - not from personal experience!)

moaningmyrtle4 · 25/04/2024 19:44

People who are calling it vile and grim
it’s sad to see you so conditioned to what society thinks is acceptable whilst men don’t have to do any down there gardening and no one bats an eyelid.

AnnieSnap · 25/04/2024 19:56

LadySugar · 24/04/2024 12:19

A full bush gets itchy and tender for me, so no thanks for that reason. I keep it trimmed.

I'm not a fan of the waxing trend at all

It’s only itchy because it’s growing back. When it gets there, it’s the most comfortable.

MarvellousMonsters · 25/04/2024 19:58

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

The fuck?? Hmm

Shaving/waxing are linked to rashes, infections and ingrown hairs, there's nothing unhealthy or unkempt about a 70s bush. You need to stop watching porn, and get a biology lesson.

OhmygodDont · 25/04/2024 20:01

On we have some more shaven is pedo heaven type stuff.

🙄 If a shaven or waxed Fanny keeps a pedo any from real children he wasn’t really a pedo because my 32 year old birthed 3 children not bushy bits certainly don’t look the same as the oh so lovely babies first bath pictures my parents took of me.

Bloody weirdos who think it would look the same. I’m also not like 7lb 6oz anymore either 😂 or under 4ft. So so child looking with a few grey hairs too. But my bare fanny makes me look pre pubescent 🙄. Maybe I’ll have to go shopping naked and I’ll get id checked for buying wine again 😂😂 or maybe I’ll look like a crazy bat shit 32 year old who’s lost her marbles hmmmm

Batteredcodmushypeasandafalafal · 25/04/2024 20:10

I much prefer to be hairy down below, mainly because I can't be arsed attending to it particularly regularly. I have no one to impress and it's just generally more comfortable. My problem comes in going swimming or in Summer on the beach as I have ginger hair and bright orange curlies do tend to look quite obvious when peeking out the side of a swimsuit. Yes the top and tail do match, a question that seemed of utmost importance to men when I was more youthful.

Fluffywigg · 25/04/2024 20:13

I have both. Sometime a big fluffy rug that needs trimmed and other times laminate flooring. I use the cream and whilst some people like to do landing strips etc I find it so fiddly that I end up just taking it all off as it’s easier.

There are times where it’s proper bushy and I feel like it pulls so I don’t like that sensation as it hurts. Keeping it trimmed myself and having my bikini line done in a salon is too much hastle so it’s easier to wip it all off. That’s my reasoning. I couldn’t care what anyone else does.

Oh yes. We have arrived at the ‘I’m a disabled lesbian in a wheelchair so if you disagree with me you are bigot’ stage of the internet debate. My favourite.

I am disabled, a lesbian, and I am a wheelchair user, not ‘in a wheelchair’.

If you want confirmation you can advance search me- would you like a list of my past usernames? or ask mumsnet for confirmation.

I didn’t say you were a bigot. I said you are wrong, and your feminism lacks intersectionality.

How can it be porn when I was 12 years old 😂😂 never watched porn or been with a man. Lived with my old age granny she certainly wasn’t telling me to go shave or flaunting a bare fanny at me 😂 Spiders for days there.

So if you were 12 I’m guessing your ‘granny’ ? was around her 50’s/60’s? How awful are you to refer to her in this way. So bloody ageist and disrespectful.

Sassoon · 25/04/2024 20:33

Internalised misogyny is much grimmer.

my mum is 82 with a 12 year old grandchild, and she would tell you herself it was cobwebs she certainly wouldn’t find it ageist or disrespectful if I suggested it either 🤷🏼‍♀️
maybe we’re just closer than others 🤣

The moment you have a daughter of a certain age and she asks you to pay for laser treatment - it's not just a private matter to her.

Another factor which no one seems to talk about - is at what age are all the depilated women here showing disgust at their daughter's early pubic hair? Is it not disgusting and then suddenly disgusting?

What age are very young women being taken for hair downstairs hair removal?

I think this is quite a psychologically loaded message to send a young woman.

Do I remember rightly Victoria Beckham was quoted as saying all girls should have a Brazilian wax at 15 in 2003?
I remember being horrified at this remark at the time.

Waitingfordoggo · 25/04/2024 21:09

@Verv I agree that we all conform one way or another. I only shave my legs because I know that a lot of people (like many on this thread) would consider me ‘grim’ if I did not. I would much rather not shave but alas it is not acceptable for me to make that decision about my own body.

However,

We cut the hair on our heads, we put crowns and fillings in our teeth, we replace teeth with fakes when they fall out, we cut our fingernails, we deodorise

at least two of these are based on practicality rather than aesthetics. Long nails are unhygienic and impractical. Teeth with cavities in can be extremely painful. Missing teeth can cause problems with speech and eating.

Some people remove pubic hair because of practicality.

Jessica DeFino is currently running a survey on public hair if anyone is interested:

Just did that poll but... bleaching one's anus is a thing? 😨

lol. Of course. It's like how when anyone calls out the exploitation of deliveroo drivers someone pops up and pretends they are too unwell to microwave a meal and, in fact, unpaid workers are now essential services without which they would expire.
