70s bush envy

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:34

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

Oh god no. A totally hairless crotch on a man is awful. It's all...chickeny.

LOL perfect way to describe it

thistimelastweek · 24/04/2024 21:52

Haven't read the full thread but I'm pretty sure they didn't invent public hair in the 70s.

Waitingfordoggo · 24/04/2024 21:52

Yes, hair free man-bits just look ludicrous to me- I can’t take that seriously.

I have to confess it’s a sight I’ve never seen - nor ever want to.

a222 · 24/04/2024 21:46

why is having pubic hair not taking care of yourself?

also, i shave down there and i’ve never understood women who judge those who don’t.

The judging and insulting on this thread is mostly in the other direction.

Dozens of posters have quoted this post but no-one picked up the pp who used the same word - grim - to describe women who remove their hair.

Despite all the bleating on about waxing being for the male gaze, it's predominantly the women with pubic hair rushing in to tell us how much their men love it.

A woman who explained why she finds removing her hair more comfortable was told to see a doctor.

GrumpyMiddleAgedCow · 24/04/2024 21:58

I prefer no hair down there (for me not the man) but it’s defo not a hygiene thing just a personal preference! Do the hairs all over your face make you dirty….no, but if you want to dermaplane it’s all good each to their own IMO.

OP if I could donate my growth to you I would…win win 😂

Caerulea · 24/04/2024 21:59

What in the holy fuck happened here?! I had dinner, watched some TV with my kids & come back to find piss, blood & shit all over the thread?!

AGlinnerOfHope · 24/04/2024 22:03

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe · 24/04/2024 13:18

And now you're doing the shaming yourself. There is something so very creepy about men or women who liken an adult human female to a young girl.

I agreed with the rest of your post, women shouldn't be shamed or pressurised by men but also not by women. We were supposed to be better than that.

I have waxing, I prefer to be hair free. I have zero opinion about other women's pubic hair or preferences.

Thing is I’m a straight woman who doesn’t watch porn. I do associate a bare pubis with children as I’ve never seen one on an adult.

kalokagathos · 24/04/2024 22:08

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

What are you talking about? A number of gynaecologists have told me it is wrong to be shaving at all, because hair is the protective layer, ergo, when you shave you do the opposite of taking care of yourself.

Ofcourseshecan · 24/04/2024 22:09

PoppyJM · 24/04/2024 11:37

Taking care of yourself - IMO that means leaving your pubes where they intended to be so that they can perform their function.
Not traumatising the area by yanking them out or whatever.

I agree. It’s sad that people (especially women) think their natural bodies are all wrong. And to me a hairless vulva looks childlike, appealing to men with really creepy tastes.

pelotonaddiction · 24/04/2024 22:25

I have HS so hair removal not really an option
I can trim but that's it

Aswellisnotoneword · 24/04/2024 22:25

appealing to men with really creepy tastes.

I can't speak for all couples of course, but generally, aren't men are finding women attractive and choosing to date them before they know the pubic hair situation?

If you're right, my DP was taking a bit of a gamble dating a middle aged, curvy mother of 2 with E cup breasts, and secretly hoping I'd look 'just like a little girl' with my clothes off.

Jaggy1 · 24/04/2024 22:25

I really hate all the ‘I would worry about a man who preferred someone bald like a child’ brigade 🤣

I started waxing after a long term relationship ended, completely for myself when I’d never bothered with it before. No one saw it for a long time and it made me happy, just like everyone on heres’ bushes make them happy! Everyone can discuss preference without casting judgement on others too!
For what it’s worth my DP prefers it right after a wax, but says it’s because it’s so soft and he can actually see it rather than what it’s like when it needs a wax🤣

OceanicBoundlessness · 24/04/2024 11:51

I'm quite envious of the people with big red bushes with googly eyes.

Or is that Merkins? I get muddled up.

I think that's a sporran and worn on the outside (like Superman) with a kilt.

Rookangaroo4 · 24/04/2024 22:43

Mine is very fair anyway but I used an IPL machine years ago across the top and down the sides and it’s never grown back and since the menopause there’s not loads any more anyway! I couldn’t give a toss what DH prefers but I know he doesn’t like hairless.

Katbum · 24/04/2024 22:49

The cognitive dissonance on this thread is intense.

Efrogwraig · 24/04/2024 19:27

Used to have a fine bush before cancer & radiotherapy. I miss it.

Where are people seeing all these fannies to know what’s on trend?

Probably on Naked Attraction.

Eastcoastie · 24/04/2024 22:59

LadySugar · 24/04/2024 20:54

Perhaps, but I don't go to bed with blood or wee on my pubes!

Eh I guess so lol. However you can have a bush on the front for the aesthetic value and trim around outer labia/ass crack so🤷‍♀️

This sounds a bit like topiary!

slore · 24/04/2024 23:01

I like the look of pubes, it looks like the bits have their clothes on. Unfortunately despite having plenty of hair, I have horrible pubes, really long (like 3 inches) and an ugly browny grey colour. Also I have hairy legs and bum crack like a man. I get rid of the leg hair but I am prone to ingrown hairs no matter what I do so the straggly pubes and bumhole have to stay.

smithsinarazz · 24/04/2024 23:01

Honestly, it really didn't occur to me that ordinary women remove their pubic hair until a few months ago when I saw some article or another with a GP saying she barely saw any young women with - I can't remember the phrase she used, so I'll substitute "a normal bush". Just one of those other things that make me really glad I wasn't born 30 years later. I MEAN. I just couldn't be bothered to keep it up (or rather down)
Allegedly the C19th art historian, John Ruskin, failed to consummate his marriage, in part, because he was shocked by his wife's pubic hair. Having spent an awful lot of time around marble nudes and paintings of Dryads with artfully-positioned fronds of waterweed, he hadn't realised lady gardens exist. Eventually she left him for his protege, Millais, and had about 10 children after that. DH is the arty type and loves Millais, and perhaps that's one reason why he's ok with it :D

''Oh god no. A totally hairless crotch on a man is awful. It's all...chickeny.''

I actually snorted at this!
YES! like a set of giblets.

This sounds a bit like topiary!

I think we should all start a trend of trimming our pubes into nice fetching shapes. It could be a new business opportunity. Like going to the nail salon.

Or you could DIY it with a biscuit cutter and a razor.
