70s bush envy

Sparklybutold · 24/04/2024 11:34

Is it just me or does anyone else have bush envy? Yes I mean pubic hair bush. I swear I have alopecia down there. I would love a big soft bush. Apparently you can get a bush wig which I'd seriously consider.

(Dear Aston University - stick that in your pipe)

And next, labial correction plastic surgery, jeeez!

Perhaps, but I don't go to bed with blood or wee on my pubes!

You know that it just gets on your skin right? Same bacteria.
Also I don't know what your bowel movements are like but I eat a lot of fibre so it's pretty clean after wiping my bum hole.. I'm not exactly smearing shit everywhere.
If I was I would jump in the shower or use baby wipes. Ditto for period blood I never get it on my pubes but I use tampons not pads so there's only a little bit on a liner.
Not sure what planet these people are on 😂you are perfectly entitled to a shaven area though if that's what you prefer.

That's great (so do I!), but what about during the day?

Surely you're not having a shower or a flannel wash after every wee/poo. Surely when you're on your period you get blood on it. What do you do when you're at work, for example? That can't be very hygienic?

I do wash after a poo, yes. I don’t find it necessary to wash after a wee. It’s likely most people have tiny droplets of urine in their underwear or on the skin of their genitals, and most of us don’t stink of piss so it’s not something I ever worry about. Most men don’t wipe at all after a wee. Do men generally smell pissy? Not in my experience.

When I’m on my period, I use a cup and period pants for back-up. There is bound to be some period blood in the period pants, so the fact there is probably also some in my pubes is neither here nor there. Lots of women and girls use sanitary towels. How do you feel about those? All that blood just there. I don’t know about you but I have never met a woman and thought ‘wow, you smell of period’.

When I’m at work, I’m sweating a lot (fitness classes) so hypothetical urine or period blood possibly in my pubes isn’t on my radar.

LordPercyPercy · 24/04/2024 21:05

How? If you're in the work toilet, for example?! Or a public toilet? Or at someone else's house? Of course you're not having a shower or flannel wash after every wee/poo.

Use a wipe if necessary then.
I work from home and yes I absolutely do wash after every poo. I'd feel revolting if I didn't.

Not after a wee as that isn't necessary, urine doesn't cause UTIs.

I'm staggered that people find pubes dirty feeling but will happily just dry wipe themselves.

Are you menopausal?

Most old ladies are bald as coots down there so it does start to thin out in midlife for many.

They must look like children then - according to some PPs

I don't find pubes dirty. I've already said that I don't shave. I don't have any underneath to get pee/blood etc on so I don't need to.

I'm saying that so MANY pubes - ie, a thick covering all the way underneath and all the way up to your bum - must get in the way of cleanliness. I'm surprised that people who have that much don't get rid of at least enough of it to keep better clean.

Honestly washing is the answer.

Admittedly when blokes aren't taught this, dangleberries may ensue.

Taking care of yourself is indeed important.

I take care of myself by drinking a big mug of tea while snuggled up in bed combing my big 70s bush

🙌

Shestolemyboyfriend · 24/04/2024 21:12

My friend shaved fully for a date as that his preferred state when in a relationship and described it as being hairless like a dolphin.😂

ScubaDivingSpiderMonkey · 24/04/2024 21:16

Some people really going heavy on the detail.

Giving some proper wank fodder to the hairy handed lurkers.

LordPercyPercy · 24/04/2024 21:17

Btw arsecrack hair, like the rest of your pubes, is there for a reason:

"Everyone has some hair in the area between their butt crack. This hair wicks away moisture and protects the sensitive skin around your anus."

"there is no medical or hygienic advantage to getting rid of hair anywhere on your body, including your butt."

If you decide to get rid of the hair on your butt crack, make sure to do it carefully and safely. Here's how to do it safely, as well as the risks.

No one wants pubes in their mouth

so for that reason I believe both women AND men need to shave / trim so that doesn’t happen for their partner

StripyShirt · 24/04/2024 21:17

CaraMiaMonCher · 24/04/2024 12:04

Look, I completely agree that having a completely shaven fanjo as an adult woman is grim, but can you elaborated on what gynae issues it is causing? And is there any evidence base for this? Or is it just some anecdotal reference to HCP’s judging that those with bald bits are more likely to be putting it about?

Maybe they've worn it away

MoonWoman69 · 24/04/2024 21:20

@GreenIcy I got my mirror from Boots many years ago. It's a hand mirror, open it up and it's normal on one side, 10x on the other! I have an old, Borders book light that I clip onto it... Then I'm in my element!!! 🤣🤣🤣

I believe that women and men concerned about getting pubes in their mouth ought to learn how to perform oral sex properly.

Frangipanyoul8r · 24/04/2024 21:26

Where are people seeing all these fannies to know what’s on trend?

ObliviousCoalmine · 24/04/2024 21:34

Muddywalks34 · 24/04/2024 11:48

Nope I think it’s vile, just my opinion but I personally like to be hair free, that goes for my DH as well, no one wants a mouth full of pubes 🤢

Oh god no. A totally hairless crotch on a man is awful. It's all...chickeny.

flyinghen · 24/04/2024 21:35

@Verv 😂

Oganesson118 · 24/04/2024 21:42

No. I'm considering IPL, I HATE having hair down there. I wax, but sometimes it itches like a bastard for days after.

TempestTost · 24/04/2024 21:42

LittleBooThang · 24/04/2024 11:35

Nope. It’s just grim. Taking care of yourself is important.

There was a case a number of years ago where a diabetic teen ended up in hospital for months due to an infection in her nether regions - caused by a tiny skin tear from waxing.

After she recovered, she tried shaving instead, and had the same result, necessitating another long hospital stay.

As far as I'm concerned public hair removal is a very individual choice, and there can be some benefits which can be why people choose do do it, even apart from aesthetics, but there are also downsides and risks.

It’s actually more hygienic, Hair removal can cause all sorts of problems. It’s weird to find it vile. OP - I had the best ever luxuriant bush when I was younger. I’m Mediterranean and had a huge dark bush, I remember being at a party where we went skinny dipping in an indoor pool and someone said I had the most fulsome bush they’d ever seen! In my late 50s now and it’s sadly gone a bit catweazle. I think the trend for shaved and waxed mons is odd.

Katemax82 · 24/04/2024 21:45

SingingSongs · 24/04/2024 11:41

It’s actually more harmful to remove it. It’s meant to be there, so you would be taking better care of yourself to leave it.

I stopped removing all my pubes because I kept getting irritated down there. Now I just trim it and I'm fine, despite my husband moaning about it

why is having pubic hair not taking care of yourself?

also, i shave down there and i’ve never understood women who judge those who don’t.

YANBU.

People always make the hygiene argument but I think you can wash and keep yourself clean regardless of hair.

I've always felt it's gross. You have no hair pre puberty. Prepubescent should not be considered sexy it should be an utter turn off

Shaving actually creates micro tears in the skin, which breds bacteria down there. It's very unhygienic to shave your pubes - so the hygiene argument is always funny because scientifically speaking it's so much more hygienic to have pubes!
