Some years back, about this time of year, a historian on R4 made the point that St George was selected as our patron shortly before an English campaign aganst the Welsh, and suggested that it wasn't a coincidence. I have not seen this suggestion since.

I think it is fairly plan for all most to see that the governments ignoring of vital services for the population and instead focusing on a small number of desperate people has led to poor services for very many of us.
I am indeed sorry it has come to this, but change is coming.

We still don’t need to angrily blame the sanctuary seekers for all our problems and for doing what any of us might if we were desperate and had the bottle. A lot of our our problems are down to our own stupidity. Voting in a party that doesn’t care about people. Voting for Brexit. Ignoring climate change.
