Anyone here old enough to remember Prince in his assless pants?

Everyone assumed that it was an attention-seeking stunt meant to have everyone taking about him. In reality they were just "soooo comfy" and designed to make it easy to perform squats (with his guitar) onstage.

He definitely did not want to draw anyone's attention or comments. How DARE you insinuate otherwise😂😂

butterpuffed · 21/04/2024 19:11

Your title was only showing as far as ...to not believe anyone wears scrunc

I thought it was going to say ....to not believe anyone wears scrunchies !

I was going to say what's wrong with them 😅

Ihearyousingingdownthewire · 21/04/2024 19:38

I have some! My arse does look amazing in them.

Kitkat1523 · 21/04/2024 19:42

See them on mums when I pick up my Gs from school….. been around a while where I am in NW

Whatsitcalled38 · 21/04/2024 19:45

I find them alot more comfortable than normal ones. Simply becuase they kinda cup the cheeks so stay in place better. I have a big ass, always have struggled with jeans gaping at the top or ripping a the crotch kinda person, no matter what size Ive been. Leggings Jimmy themselves down as your butt moves but the scrunched butt one's don't as much. They don't go up your crack much, they're not like thongs.

They're nice in summer, normal shorts either riding up my vajayjay, or opening at the top showing my ass crack look alot worse.

Newusernameforthiss · 21/04/2024 19:53

I see women wear them a lot in my local Tesco Express. Absolutely an unexpected item in the bagging area 👀👀 a massive bum that looks like two giant tennis balls. I can't help but 🫣

Luluem · 21/04/2024 20:13

I saw a pair of the legging version just today in the park, in a sort of crinkly material all over. Not a fan to say the least

notacooldad · 21/04/2024 20:18

A lot of the teen girls I support through work wear these, especially with crop tops!

Gettingonmygoat · 21/04/2024 21:04

daisychain01 · 20/04/2024 18:08

They remind me of the cheese-string effect of thongs - bloody awful and highly overrated things they were - high leg is the way to go as far as I'm concerned

surely you need a decent pair of shapely taut gluts and a 24 inch waist for those to look good.

Nobody could ever look good in these.

Brrrrrrrrrritscold · 21/04/2024 17:16

I wear the shorts and the leggings. They are super comfortable for squatting etc. I’m 51 with a great arse, and couldn’t give a fuck about the judgement of others.
I’m growing old disgracefully.

I have no problem squatting in my normal sports leggings, buy decent ones they don't rip, go see through, fall down and are comfortable.

TrishM80 · 21/04/2024 09:46

Men don't wear this shit. Some women just like to go around showing everything off for some reason. Same on nights out, everything hanging out. No self respect.

Again, my gay friend wears them as he likes the pulling in effect

He's very much in the minority, though, isn't he?

People on this thread are saying about seeing women and girls wearing them everywhere.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/04/2024 23:09

@IHaveNeverLivedintheCastle oh the irony! Yes you are fully entitled to your opinions of course. 🙄

I was searching for some new gym leggings yesterday and came across a brand that gets great reviews but only seem to do scrunch bum leggings. I don't understand them, they seem overly sexualised. I don't particularly want men to ogle my bum when I'm working out, but this style seems like it's designed for this purpose. When men wear loose fitting clothes to the gym and then women wear this, it seems like a step backwards. I mean I know women's and men's gym wear has always been different, but where's the progress away from misogyny? I know the women who wear this style will say they don't wear them so people will look at their bum, but if they don't, what's the appeal? Why choose those over normal leggings?

Edited

Personally I don't like wearing loose fitting clothing when I exercise. I feel more 'secure' when wearing something tight that I know won't ride up or fall down. I don't wear leggings of the scrunch bum variety but posters here have already said they find them more comfortable and some have extra fabric to stop any see-throughness that might occur. And if people are wearing them to show off their arse I don't really see an issue with it. Men 'show off' various parts of their body too with shirts that show their chests, sleeveless tops that show their arms, shorts that show their legs, you are kidding yourself if you think the 'gym bros' don't factor in showing off their bodies into their outfits and just dress for comfort.

Housewife2010 · 22/04/2024 06:47

I saw a woman wearing them in the heatwave last summer. There was a large noticeable sweat patch on her arse crack. Lovely....

StormingNorman · 22/04/2024 07:33

They make me think of baboons 😂

OnHerSolidFoundations · 22/04/2024 08:17

To those saying it's because of see through ness in the gym or whatever, why di you think men aren't wearing them?

Not so many boys in midriff exposing tops or bodycon dresses out there either are there? Hmmm I wonder why... ?

ChiefEverythingOfficer · 22/04/2024 08:23

StormingNorman · 22/04/2024 07:33

😂😂😂

Yes - the effect of two separate arse cheeks has strong baboon vibes.

We are designed to have one arse, not two separate large bouncy balls separated by a giant crack. Each to their own.

Have you ever been to a gay club? There absolutely are.

TrishTrix · 22/04/2024 11:22

@clearmoon seen multiple times across various 3rd space branches in London.

They are a thing.

suppose it makes a change from wall to wall sweaty Betty!

Thank god - back in the day chaps were fashionable in some clubs.

And they didn’t always wear any undercrackers 🤢

Beezknees · 22/04/2024 08:34

Have you ever been to a gay club? There absolutely are.

But that's a specific location, where people have actively chosen to go and presumably know what to expect. Like going to a swimming pool and knowing that people won't be wearing very much there.

It's not the same thing at all as walking down the street and being confronted by somebody who looks almost naked from the waist down.

SeanBeansMealDeal · 22/04/2024 15:11

Sorry to be the one to go there, but what happens when you fart if you're wearing a pair of these? Where does it go?

Do people walking behind you see it bubbling around under the fabric, desperately looking for an escape route?

crumblingschools · 22/04/2024 15:20

@SeanBeansMealDeal maybe it blows up like a balloon so you have 3 bum cheeks
