Who is this Scottish family people are mentioning? I don’t recall a Scottish family currently.

I can't recall a Scottish family but there is a young Scottish couple called Roisin and Joe who are quite new

Remoteaccess · 20/04/2024 14:20

I like Roisin and Joe they're lovely

They seem to be really nice!

Pete and Sophie are my absolute faves! They crack me up and I love their endless selection of novelty mugs! Also love Jenny and Lee and Dave and Shirley.

I miss Mary and Marina, who were my other favourites. RIP Mary.

Her cackling gets on y nerves, but they can be quite witty

@Zingy123

Pete & Sophie? I don't find them 'fake' at all.

i don't remember thinking any of their comments weee nasty. Do you have any examples?

Pete used to be very sneery and sarcastic but he’s mellowed a bit. Sophie has an annoying, cackling laugh.

There are probably people who find your laugh equally annoying.

I don’t cackle like her. I heard many comments about her laugh! Also, I’m not watched by millions of viewers on TV!

Still rude and unnecessary to comment on someone elses laugh, don’t you think.

We teach our kids to be kind online and then there are people like you who ought to be old enough to know better.

if he has significant brain damage do his family think its right and fair to appear in the show? are the malones the ones with the dogs?

Maybe he wants to be on the show? He's an adult with capacity 🙄

He has a normal family with children, hasn’t he. If he was asked and wants to be on the show then of course he should be.

Yes, I’m sick of seeing ”perfect” people who all look the same and talk the same talk, it’s rather refreshing with normal people, disabilities, cackling laughs and all..

It’s perfect fine for” people like me” to comment on someone’s laugh on a tv programme! It’s not as if it’s a disability, and far worse things are commented on on these forums!

PrincessFionaCharming · 20/04/2024 17:28

I mean whilst there is a limit I do think if you choose to put yourself on tv you need to accept that not everyone is going to say nice things about you. It would be nice if people were all sunshine and rainbows but that’s not reality.

you probably need to be fairly thick skinned.

you have to spill? Which couple??

I dont watch it i dont like it watching people watch TV But right now i have cbeebies on i live alone with no kids.
Its just for background noise really😆

@walnutcoffeecake I thought that too, I thought it was a dire premise for a show 'watching people watch tv'. I ignored it for years in a rather sniffy way! Then I stayed with friends who watch it & came to enjoy it.

have you watched it at all?? a few times to get to know the 'characters'??

LakieLady · 20/04/2024 19:20

I like it and the Siddiqis are my favourites. They have a lovely gentle humour and I'd like them to be my neighbours. Amira and Amani are hilarious, and I like Simon and Jane and Jenny and Lee too.

Sophie's fake sounding laugh gets on my nerves and I cannot bear Giles and Mary. They're sole redeeming feature is their nice dog, but he's now trumped by the adorable Staffie puppy.

YeahComeOnThen · 20/04/2024 19:23

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/04/2024 11:29

Shaun Malone suffered brain damage after an infection when he was 15 years old. He's lucky to be alive. His Instagram reads "making brain damage cool since 2010"

Of course that still makes you free to find him annoying. Whilst this may or may not be widely known or 'obvious' to some, I do think this is sometimes the problem with asking "who do you like / not like" on a thread.

@RainbowZebraWarrior

I thought it was really obvious, but I have the misfortune to have first hand experience of life after brain damage with my nephew. He was 14 when he was in a car accident and now in his 30's.

YeahComeOnThen · 20/04/2024 19:25

Willmafrockfit · 20/04/2024 11:43

@Willmafrockfit my nephew was 14 when he ended up with brain damage from an accident. He was on life support & they almost turned it off. He's in his 30's now & will always have to live with someone, but he's more than capable of giving consent to do something like being on thus show.

YeahComeOnThen · 20/04/2024 19:28

ItDoesntHaveToBeDave · 20/04/2024 10:10

The Malone's son is toe-curling. You can see his mum thinking "shut the f up" when he starts. So embarrassing.

Top - the Saddikis, Amari and Amani and Giles and Mary

@ItDoesntHaveToBeDave

im sorry you find the results of brain damage toe-curling, & embarrassing. But that's down to you.

Don't assume you know what his mother is thinking.

YeahComeOnThen · 20/04/2024 19:33

ASighMadeOfStone · 20/04/2024 12:13

Yes, though Dave the Rottweiler died recently.
George Gilby died the other week in an accident at work and the husband of the woman who knits a lot (in Brighton) passed away as well.
I'm watching on catch up and am at 2017 I think. I watched one yesterday where Leon and June were talking about life, and love. And that's what life is about, love and generosity. (children's hospital was the programme they were watching)
It was beautiful ❤️

@ASighMadeOfStone

oh no I hadn't heard about Dave, he was gorgeous. I thought he was just 'off screen' with a bone or something

ibhad heard about George Gilby sad. Especially as it seems to be quite shady/negligent.

i hadn't heard about the bloke from Brighton. he was very quiet , but complimented the wife & her daughter.

@Bignanna

having a laugh you feel is annoying, isn't an example of her being nasty!

RunningAwayToJoinTheCircus · 20/04/2024 19:45

Steph and Dom, and Stephen (I think, the one from Brighton with partner then mum then husband) both appeared on Four in a Bed years ago.
Different weeks.
Steph and Dom were brilliant, can't remember much about the Brighton one apart from him constantly talking about how much he'd spent on his hotel, and iirc, it wasn't actually open properly and most of it was a building site.

Pixiesgirl · 20/04/2024 19:53

Have watched it from the start, which is odd as I don't watch much else. I enjoy it and actually none of them are too annoying atm, well the mother and son were tedious but they didn't last long.

WGACA · 20/04/2024 19:59

I love the Siddiquis! They’re such nice genuine people. I also think Lee and Jenny are hilarious (Cher and the elephants clip anyone?!) I like Pete but Sophie does laugh at absolutely everything he says!
