Conflict in the Middle East

To say the London Palestinian marches should be stopped

They are weekly marches found to be organised by organisations with links to Hamas, and at least one ex Hamas member.

They are supporting a terrorist organisation that has just committed the deadliest day in Israel’s history. An Iranian dissident was arrested for holding a sign saying Hamas is Terrorist, despite the fact that they are a UK-designated terrorist organisation - because protestors assaulted him on seeing the sign.

If they were calling for peace and fewer casualties they would be condemning Hamas and calling for them to surrender.

AIBU to think this is deeply disturbing and has no place on the streets of London. Note - terrorist support is illegal and not protected speech.

YABU. There is a genocide happening in Gaza and people should protest.

Find your morals, seriously.

Completely agree. They should have been stopped after the first couple.

Israel has killed 32k people so far. Majority women and kids. Innocent people murdered in a disproportionate response. As a direct result I have no time or support for Israel.

At the moment we have a right to protest. If you want to march in favour of Israel go for it. The average person who goes to such marches (aka me) does condemn hamas but will not idly standby whilst Israel kills children.

The right to protest is important. I feel strongly about that. Broadly though I do understand and partly agree with you op. These marches make London hostile for Jewish people imo. Not all marchers will have ill intent or be anti semetic but a lot will

Did you see the video of Israeli troops burying people alive with a bulldozer

I would prefer it if the Israeli government stopped killing the Palestinians. Until then I guess we are going to have the marches.

If you want the marches to cease then I suggest you start writing furious letters to the Israeli Embassy asking their government to stop murdering women and children.

I wish the civil war in Sudan which has displaced millions of people and left them facing starvation would stop. Such a shame no one protests over it. I wonder why?

Meekly allowing genocide being the alternative ? No thanks.

We decided to take this down as part of the comment references a harmful stereotype.

Protest against who though? A protest in London won't even show up on the radar of the ruling elite in Israel. Them being the only ones who can really do anything about it.

I totally agree. I think a lot less of people who scream on and on about Palestine without considering the context.

YANBU. Destroying buildings (Croydon last night) and chanting threats at Jewish people shouldn’t be tolerated. But it will be because people are too scared to speak up.

What a ridiculous thing to day op.
People are beyond outraged and frustrated at what is happening in gaza.
There is no excuse.

Maybe because the UK Government isn’t supporting, and contributing, to that war? Did that thought not occur to you??

OP how about wanting the Genocide being committed by Israel to stop?

The poster I was quoting suggested we start writing to the Israeli embassy....so are these marches about the uk governments stance or Israel's actions....

Hamas is still holding hostages. I’ll march for Gaza as soon as they have all been released.

*holding = detaining, attacking, torturing, beating, assaulting, raping
