Taylor Swift tickets.. help me avoid being scammed again?!

So desperate for tickets that I have already been scammed by a very clever and genuine fraudster. She wanted £130 per ticket and I needed 4. Provided plenty proof of tickets including seat numbers. Of course I’ve never done this before and fell for it hook, line and sinker. I immediately detected rat and contacted bank.. didn’t get through for an age and by this time she had deleted all her messages. As such, this meant my evidence was limited so i had all my messages but hers were just showing deleted message. Obvious what had happened but according to bank and fraud uk, not enough to get my money back.
so I’ve now been looking a viagogo.. is anything legitimate?
Considering paying silly money if I have a guarantee.
what’s the chances realistically?

Good luck OP.

I tried to get green day tickets in Nov when they were released but they sold out. The prices of the VIP ones were crazy.
Now the concert is only a few months away, lots have gone back on ticketmaster for resale at face value & I've managed to get some.
You need to keep checking though. As they get snapped up almost straight away.
Definitely avoid Viagogo. There's a Facebook group called ViaNOgo or similar, full of people who've been scammed.

valensiwalensi · 17/04/2024 18:10

Def not Viagogo. Promoters are constantly cancelling tickets sold on there.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 17/04/2024 18:12

I'm constantly clicking refresh on AXS, maybe a miracle will happen!

doubleshift · 17/04/2024 18:14

Ticketmaster resales.
I got 2x Beyoncé tickets face value 2 days before her last show delivered through the Ticketmaster app

Sammysquiz · 17/04/2024 19:09

Ticketmaster has just updated and now none of them are requiring a code.

Do NOT use Viagogo.

I've bought and sold through Viagogo and it's been absolutely fine. But as the TS tickets can't be transferred yet it's only going to be a scam right now.

It really depends on who the artist and promoter is. It’s a risk to buy from there.

Think you might be scammed again. Can you watch it online or on a TV channel...I know it's not the same.

😆 thanks for the vote of confidence

I'm doing the same but after a few gos I get blocked because it thinks I'm a robot..

"Are you a real fan?"

Yes I bloody am, that's why I'm sat here refreshing like a crazy person!! The irony lol

Sorry to jump on the thread. I have London tickets I want to swop for Cardiff, is there a way to do that except buy and resell which seems too risky?

Oh gosh, why not? I had lunch with a friend yesterday, who is flying from NYC to London where she's going to meet her SIL and niece, because they're going to the TS concert at Wembley having bought tickets on Viagogo. Does she not have real tickets???? How can one find out?

Unless it’s a personal friend no way to know until they do (or don’t) get transferred the tickets 3 days before the show as it’s impossible to do it any sooner than that. Even if they are legitimate they may get turned away at the gate as the tickets sold through an unofficial resale sources can be cancelled according to TicketMaster and AXS. They might be fine, but the only way to protect yourself entirely is to buy from one of the two official sellers only (or hospitality).

shenandoahvalley · 17/04/2024 21:48

OMG. Well, I think in that case I won't say anything, it might all be fine and they might not get turned away. The niece is 13yo, it's her bat mitzvah present, she's flying in from Greece for this especially. If the poor girl gets turned away it's going to be awful for her. My friend will likely just have a nice long weekend in London any which way!

MissAtomicBomb1 · 17/04/2024 22:10

I've also heard stories of the same seats being sold twice on viagogo. So the tickets are transferred then when the buyer arrives at the venue, the barcode won't scan as it's already been used - there's someone else in the seat!

Hi, this happened to me a few days ago, exactly the same price per ticket too. Was it via fb?
It's an awful feeling!
I won't be trying again unless I manage to find some through the resale on ticketmaster

How odd, just checked and its asking me for a code now, but wasnt earlier?!

its2024 · 17/04/2024 22:27

Just get Disney plus and watch it on there, cheaper and best view.

Or to get that being there feeling, stand in your garden and the view will be like your actually there.

There's a TS euro/UK FB page. You could arrange a swap then transfer tickets when you are able, if you trust enough. Also a Discord but really hard to get into apparently.

KiwiLondoner · 17/04/2024 22:35

CaptainCarrotsBigSword · 17/04/2024 11:11

Anything other than the official Ticketmaster and AXS resales have a high likelihood of being a scam and you have no way of telling the scammer from the regular scalper.

You can keep trying with the official resale but your best bet is to accept you aren't going, honestly.

As hopefully helpful info - I have AXS tickets and they are not able to be transferred yet, so anyone saying they can transfer axs held tickets to you already is fibbing. They won't be available to transfer until much nearer the date (to try to prevent scammers).

This. I work for the company - only legitimate resales are through official ticket suppliers (ticket master and AXS) and they're not yet available for resale. Everything else avoid xx

I watched a little bit of it on Disney plus and I nearly fell asleep. It was quite boring. I like a few of her songs however most of the songs sounded the same and there wasn't much of a show.

Pink on the other hand puts on an amazing show. If I could I would pay a good amount of money to see her live.

Bingbangboo · 17/04/2024 22:39

Just clicked on Edinburgh dates and it said 'join the queue'. Haven't seen that before. No use for me, but might mean there are tickets there now!?

This! They cancelled my Depeche Mode tickets 30 minutes after the doors had opened

@BedknobsNoBroomsticks

Pink is fabulous, awesome, amazing, incredible, any superlative you can think of.
One of the best gigs EVER (and I've been to LOTS for over forty years).

I just joined the queue out of curiosity and it was short, but when you get to the ordering page you still need a bloody code!

Seen Pink twice and she was PHENOMENAL. How on earth she sings like that upside down and spinning is nothing short of amazing.
