Taylor Swift tickets.. help me avoid being scammed again?!

Id02242730 · 17/04/2024 10:50

So desperate for tickets that I have already been scammed by a very clever and genuine fraudster. She wanted £130 per ticket and I needed 4. Provided plenty proof of tickets including seat numbers. Of course I’ve never done this before and fell for it hook, line and sinker. I immediately detected rat and contacted bank.. didn’t get through for an age and by this time she had deleted all her messages. As such, this meant my evidence was limited so i had all my messages but hers were just showing deleted message. Obvious what had happened but according to bank and fraud uk, not enough to get my money back.
so I’ve now been looking a viagogo.. is anything legitimate?
Considering paying silly money if I have a guarantee.
what’s the chances realistically?

😆 thanks for the vote of confidence

I'm sure this isn't the poster doing a 'vote of confidence' towards you. This is completely out of your hands and you have already been scammed out of a lot of money. Do you know anyone that is going that perhaps is willing to sell you tickets?
There are no tickets that you can buy through the normal channels. You had the opportunity to buy the VIP tickets over a year ago which would have been cheaper. Many people i know got these. If you have unlimited finds then perhaps go through a hospitality company.
Otherwise make it a great night for your children and watch it on TV and make it special.

@Bellaboo01 I’m pretty sure the OP was being sarcastic….

PinkyFlamingo · 18/04/2024 09:19

Ticketmaster resale is the only genuine way

Do NOT use Viagogo.

This.

Oh come on!
I’m not sure if you are being deliberately tricky but it’s coming across that way.
I get it. I understand that income
across gullible by being lured into the scam. This post is to try and reach out to some other lovely Swifties and music lovers who can share their knowledge. Thankfully most people replying get it!

@Id02242730 ignore the idiots. Obviously watching on disney is not the same as being at Wembley. Fingers crossed we can find tickets on ticketmaster!

I have four tickets for Dublin and I can honestly say if someone offered me £1000 a ticket I wouldn't sell them. It's a dream come true for my daughter to go. So when I see people selling them I am instantly dubious. Also if I did need to sell them I would have dozens of people I know willing to take them off my hands and therefore wouldn't need to sell online!

Chimummy73 · 18/04/2024 10:26

I’ve also purchased from Twickets which is a secure buy / sell site endorsed by many acts owned by gigsandtours. You can also set up alerts when any are listed but appreciate 1000s of people will probably have that same alert pinging to their inbox. DO NOT TOUCH VIAGOGO!!

Go on Ticketmaster to check for resales a few times a day every day, took me 6 weeks to get some for my sons to see Liam Gallagher at the Hydro a couple of years ago but persistence paid off. I work from home they don’t so I’m always delegated ticket person! People can list their resale tickets any minute of any day so just keep trying.

With high demand nobody should be that desperate to sell they need to use facebook sorry you were scammed. Glad I’m not a Swiftie, too stressful! I had a couple of great nights at Take That last weekend though!

Good luck!

----This is what i am and i am trying to do. I was just saying that you as you have been scammed already then it wouldn't be wise to purchase any other tickets as they aren't actually available.

Honestly this is so right. I have tickets and I wouldn't sell them for anything.

Yes, some people will have bought tickets with the intention of selling on at inflated prices but even with those, there is actually no possible way at present to transfer the tickets from them to you. So anyone "selling tickets" at the moment is asking for money for something they don't have any way of getting from them to you!

Keep trying the official resale. You may get lucky. But ultimately there are far, far more people wanting tickets than there are tickets available. (Someone worked out that for the US tour, given the number of people who tried to get tickets, she would have to tour for ten years for everyone who wanted a ticket to get one!)

Of course it isnt the same but, it is a SOLD OUT CONCERT over a year ago. If you are that much of a fan, you would have pre-ordered the album before that and then just over a year ago ordered your tickets. Two months before is not very helpful.

I am now thinking this thread is all about conning people into buying tickets!! Apparently already there has been over a million pounds lost on Taylor Swift fake tickets.

IrkedByEverything · 18/04/2024 10:33

@Chimummy73

I think you have to try hundreds of times a day or at least as many as you can before Ticketmaster flag you up as a bot.

WhatWouldYouDo33 · 18/04/2024 10:35

@Bellaboo01 calm down and chill! No one is conning you into anything. People are allowed to try and get tickets at any stage.

I recently got a ticket on axs for an event on the day. For all sorts of reasons sometimes people can’t make an event especially when they bought tickets 12 months in advance.

Ok well if it isn’t obvious I’m on here saying, I’ve been scammed, I realise why but I’m asking if anyone has any advice on how I might be able to get tickets. There’s people coming on and saying keep refreshing, avoid viagogo, potential for more tix released, etc
Youve really only said don’t bother and taken a note of sarcasm out of context, you’ve said it’s completely out of my hands and just really stated the obvious about what I’ve done.. been scammed.
It is in my hands, at least to keep trying!
Looking to find alternative ways and I intend to do so.
And even if I don’t, to be honest I’m keeping positive. Loads of folk on here saying they got tickets for Beyoncé etc just before gig via legitimate route.
If you have tickets and you’re happy then you don’t really need to follow this thread. I’m kinda reaching out to like
minded folk and maybe this thread will help
some of us get tickets.
that’s all!

Oh jings.. so this thread is about conning now?
No idea how you came to that conclusion but not helpful.

They may not necessarily all be scams. A handful of people might have lucked out and gotten tickets for £150 each and now seeing $$$$ fancy making a profit over going to show. Or only ever needed two but bought four always intending to sell the extras for profit. However Ticketmaster and AXS are the only offical resale platform and they have said in their FAQ that they will invalidate any ticket sold on an unofficial resale site (such as viagogo) whether they actually will remains to be seen. But there is a risk of the tickets being cancelled even if you did buy from a legitimate seller if it’s anywhere other than offical channel.

My daughter and I are going to first night in Dublin, we’re flying over from Scotland for it as couldn’t get Edinburgh or Liverpool, I said no to London 😫 Here we are now having 3 nights in your beautiful city 🙈Really hope you get tickets 🤞
