Vinted seller has pissed me off

I’m usually chilled but this for some reason really took me off guard!

I ordered an item via Vinted and I waited 4 days for the item to be sent .. that’s ok I can’t do anything about it …. However, I got the item now and the seller wrote me a message saying “can you confirm that you got the item so I receive the payment “? What excuse me ?
Not a question like are you happy with the item ? You got 5 days to send and I have 2 days to confirm …. what’s the rush? This is not a business

what a cheeky …..

Would of been smart to take it off in the first place. Hardly the sellers fault you didn’t update your settings correctly.

@TheCheekyKoala

Seeing as it was the first time I’ve sold anything on there I had no idea that it was even an option let alone how difficult it would be to actually find an available locker.

How awful of me not to have known this was the case. You’re right, I really should have got my crystal ball out beforehand. 🙄

Yes, all of which takes more time than confirming receipt in the app. You sound like a spiteful misery.

It’s not just confirming receipt in the app is it.

It unpacking the item, checking it over to make sure it’s the correct style/item/size.

If someone wants to make out posting an item is a drawn out affair so can the buyer.

Bit of research would of helped before deciding to sale items on a app. Thought it was pretty obvious to check the settings 😂Don’t need a crystal ball, just a few brain cells.

You are literally sitting there and not releasing deliberately - don't use the excuse that you're busy - just be honest.

You were annoyed that it took 4 days, so you're going to wait for the amount of time that you have in return.

This is all absolutely within the rules of vinted, but in reality, your seller could have genuinely been busy, and you're not releasing just to be spiteful.

You're claiming you're also busy, but you're actually on mumsnet making a thread about it...

So on another post someone is getting themselves worked up over "painted stones"

Here YOU are getting worked up over someone taking a few days to post an item 🤣

Strewth it must be a slow news day with all this excitement over nothing !

RobertaFirmino · 09/04/2024 00:42

If you don't like it don't use it. There's no point in turning into an insufferable twat over it.

YaMuvva · 09/04/2024 01:03

Sounds like a person desperate for the money.

IThe process of confirming you have it is 100x easier than the shipping process. I sell on Vinted and have to drive to the drop off point so I get round to it when I get round to it

Concannon88 · 09/04/2024 01:06

Littlepumkin · 08/04/2024 23:28

Exactly it’s not like I’m deliberately sitting here and not confirming I was just busy and I got a massage which I thought it’s about some of the items I sell - I’m not new to Vinted and I know that this is v v unusual and rude!

Lol you not being knew ro vinted does not mean you have the deciding vote on what is rude. You are a drama queen. I've got feedback of over 3000, and I regularly get asked to release payment. Shes probably hard up.

Concannon88 · 09/04/2024 01:09

TheCheekyKoala · 08/04/2024 23:34

No it’s not. You pick it up, shove it in a bag and then go to the post office/corner shop.
It’s hardly a big effort.

Bot everyone has a corner shop. My local drop off is 15 miles away

Youremylobster86 · 09/04/2024 01:17

Sounds like the person really needs the money. It takes (if I recall correctly) 3-5 working days for the funds to go into the sellers bank after confirmation of receipt. So if the buyer faffs around for a few days before confirming could be over a week before any money is in the bank.

Icantbedoingwithit · 09/04/2024 01:29

You are being a deliberate pain in the ass.

Pleiades2020 · 09/04/2024 04:02

YABU. Maybe it's a bit annoying a seller messaging you but it's really no big deal. Just check the item as you would normally and if as described then click all is OK. It doesn't take long.

that is a big effort where I live hence why I don’t bother with the hassle of selling on vinted or anything else. All our local post offices have closed down, there is some sort of collection thing where you put into lockers at the local coop but apparently it’s always full (according to posts on fb) so people can’t get stuff delivered or collected there easily either and may have to go back several times

wetpebbles · 09/04/2024 04:50

vinted items typically take about a week to arrive

StedeBonnet · 09/04/2024 04:56

It's not usual to be chased in my experience, although I have been once - I was at work so couldn't confirm it was as described until I got home and actually opened it. It is a little annoying to get a message as soon as it's been delivered. I sell a lot also and would never do that.

Garlicked · 09/04/2024 05:00

NotAllowed · 08/04/2024 23:31

I’ve had people buy from me and never confirm. I’ve had to wait weeks for the funds to automatically release. The effort required to package something up and take it to a postal service is slightly different from the seconds it takes to open a parcel and click the button in the app. Most people live with their phones in their hands so it’s not as much of a valid excuse the other way around.

Oh, god, I've got half a dozen unopened packages 😳 I had no idea about this Vinted rule! I was going through an irrational fear of bedbugs at the time, then the packages disappeared into my Mountain Of Things I'm Going To Do.

Vinted sellers everywhere - I'm sorry, I didn't know!

[Relieved update] "Auto-feedback received. We've left positive auto-feedback". That means they got paid, doesn't it?

CrispieCake · 09/04/2024 05:09

Posting involves effort. Not everyone lives near a drop-off point and some people need to plan to get there at some point during their week. Confirming takes seconds.

Vamooshe · 09/04/2024 05:14

That’s annoying OP - what are the sellers reviews like? - often I pick up a parcel on way somewhere and don’t unwrap &try on until I’m home so won’t confirm for up to 8 or 9 hours. Confirming “Everything is OK” means the item is as described etc so I do want to check first.

PossumintheHouse · 09/04/2024 05:37

Jesus. It isn't even slightly rude. What a thing to get worked up about. Why don't you just, you know, open the bloody parcel and confirm.

TheExclusiveSandwich · 09/04/2024 05:39

You’re wrong

Mercurial123 · 09/04/2024 05:40

You don't sound very chilled OP.

stormywhethers321 · 09/04/2024 05:43

You have the item. Give her her money. It would have taken 1% of the effort you've put into this post to just release it to her.

It's a business transaction. Get thing, pay for thing. Done. She isn't required to scrape and curtsey.

Princesspollyyy · 09/04/2024 06:27

Just release the payment and stop being obstructive.

Like others have said this is a non issue.
