Neighbour problems

My neighbour came on to my property whilst I was away and put poison to stop bugs going to their property. I’m furious as I have pets. My husband thinks I’m overreacting. Aibu?

Have they spoken to you about the pest problem before this happened?

No. Not at all.

Saffy118 · 07/04/2024 20:57

It’s not wasps by the way nor nothing life threatening or house destroying

Are you for real?? The type of bug is outing 😂😂😂😂

I seldomly laugh at mumsnet but that's a cracker.

Elephantsareace · 07/04/2024 21:00

Ffs it wouldn't be identifying. I'm guessing ant nest. My gardens full of them, doesn't bother me.

Tell them not to do it again and keep your pets away for a few weeks.

Stickysusan · 07/04/2024 21:05

😂 naming a bug would be outing😂

2Old2Tango · 07/04/2024 21:06

Sorry, but I can't get past you not naming a common bug in case it's "outing". It would only be outing if it was a rare insect local to your area FFS!

Hose the poison away and tell the neighbour not to enter or put poison on your property ever again, and warn them you'll sue them if any of your pets get sick from their actions.

HelloMiss · 07/04/2024 21:07

Only on mumsnet!

This place is getting crazier by the day

coldcallerbaiter · 07/04/2024 21:10

Ants?

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:13

I’m lost, what sort of bug do you put poison down for? I’m lost 😂 like those little ant traps?

BMW6 · 07/04/2024 21:13

It's ants isn't it 🙄

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:14

Did he just put down some ant powder? Just hose it away 🫣

Alwaysalwayscold · 07/04/2024 21:16

Well there's a big difference between rat poison and ant powder...

Churchview · 07/04/2024 21:18

Is it the Acacia Avenue Specific Slug?

6Y5T · 07/04/2024 21:18

Slugs or ants

Saffy118 · 07/04/2024 21:18

It was ladybirds. It’s not the point.

OP posts:
Churchview · 07/04/2024 21:19

LADYBIRDS! Who in God's name wants to kill poor old ladybirds? They do no harm.

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:19

I use ant powder every year and Lots of the popular ant powders are generally safe to be used around kids and pets, unless you’ve got pet ants 🤔

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:20

Saffy118 · 07/04/2024 21:18

It was ladybirds. It’s not the point.

😂😂😂 this is defo a joke

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:20

Where did he buy the ladybird poison? 😂😂

Dunnoburt · 07/04/2024 21:21

Are they the invasive 12 spotters that are killing our natives? Edit got it wrong.... its the Harlequin that's the problem

Hebeegeebe · 07/04/2024 21:22

Sorry OP it was funny, I would defo be pissed with him for needlessly killing a harmless bug and for entering my property.

Arewethebadguys · 07/04/2024 21:27

Between the messy 16 year old thread that's apparently the OP's fault . . . and these killer ladybugs . . . MN you have broken me. All sorts of crazy be out tonight

Saffy118 · 07/04/2024 21:30

Well if you find that funny you will find it ever funnier that they used woodlouse poison to try to kill then. What I didn’t find funny was that they climbed into my back garden to put it down despite the fact I have pets and without asking or mentioning it.

OP posts:
Daffodilsarentfluffy · 07/04/2024 21:31

I had dc. They could have accessed the pellets....

Churchview · 07/04/2024 21:34

@Saffy118 I'd have been really annoyed that they came onto my land uninvited and put insect killer down. If it was Nippon woodlouse killer it says pets are allowed in areas where it is used so hopefully no harm can come but they are still CF.
