Aibu to ask if you have a famous DH

Does it bother you? I have a semi famous DH, he gets paid to gig and go on podcasts etc if we go out locally he does get asked for selfies so we tend to go away for weekends as a family.

I do find it slightly annoying but I guess it pays the bills 💃

@CatkinToadflax - I think I still have that one in the loft! I’ve asked nicely but it seems that searching for an owl drawing in an annual (that may not even be there), isn’t on DH’s to do list for Easter.

My DH used to have his own fan club back in the day way. I would LOVE to get hold of one of their old newsletters 😆 it freaked him out as women would track down his address and knock on the door to proposition him. Hard to imagine now looking at him snoozing on the sofa in his jimjams 😅

Of course it's a brag. It's just fallen a bit flat like your other brags, because nobody else seems to be interested in semi-famous DJs. Whoever he is, he's a person just doing his job. Most of us are one of those.

One big difference is, most of us probably wouldn't try to charge our kids school, if we could use our line of work to help out at an end of year event.

So he's well known locally and in Europe or he's an international dj who headlines festivals? Which is it?

If he really is a big deal festival headliner isn't he pissed you're gossiping on MN about him? The well known people I'm acquainted with, wouldn't appreciate people using them to create attempted brag posts, especially their OHs.

On the other hand, I’ve just looked up the son of DS’s old sports coach who actually is now an internationally famous DJ. He was just starting out when I first met his mum.

DS is a bit 😮 as he had no idea and his mates are big fans.

Even if he was famous like Calvin Harris (who I hate by the way!) then so what? His job is a DJ, he plays records for money and gets paid for it.

Most DJs I know (and I know a few) they’re really boring. Because music is their life. They’re fairly professional and unless they’re really successful then their fame can come and go in waves. They spend a lot of time away, abroad if that’s where they’re booked and it’s late nights/early hours and weeks away. I won’t say much about their personal lives but at least one has cheated.

I am totally jealous. I would love my DH to be in the realms of OPs semi famous DH. I would love to see him.my DH getting his business cards printed at Vista Print and handing them out from his wallet to our respective Aunties and for me to reach the dizzying heights of accompanying him to such major events like err..school disco's and for me to finally be able to get my make up from any where but Avon.! How I envy the OP.

Not my Husband but my Brother was back in the day, used to go out on a weekend with him for a drink and a dance but it just became a pain to be seen with him because then even when i wasn't with him people would stop me and ask where he was and women would stuff slips of paper with their phone numbers on and ask me to pass them too him.
