People claiming to be "a bit OCD" about something.
No.... there's no "a bit OCD".
Obsessive compulsive disorder is a genuine recognised and diagnosed condition that can be completely debilitating to the people who suffer with it.
There isn't a month that goes by where I don't hear someone say they are a bit OCD about this or that. No. You like it done that way and have a preference. But if its not done that way... nothing happens to you. You might wrinkle your nose a bit and that's it.
If it were any other mental health condition you were claiming to have and essentially mocking or belittling then in this day and age you would be put in your place, but for some reason people are OK with saying it about OCD.

Men with small hands. Neck hair below the hair line. Shaved pubes or shaved any body part except head if fairly bald - that's acceptable. Smoking. Small appetites.

Yes it’s a point that’s often made, but I can’t get too hung up about it. Language is flexible. You know what they mean. And actually people often describe feeling depressed, or paranoid etc without fulfilling clinical criteria for diagnosis but we know what they mean.

This!!!!! It's drives me up the wall! I've worked with people who throw this phrase around loosely when trying to imply that they are organised and or great at their job which very rarely they aren't ! I think it's very offensive to prove who genuinely suffer with OCD.

" I suffer with anxiety" is another phrase which gives me the ick! If you're feeling a bit nervous , anxious or worried , it doesn't mean you are suffering with anxiety! I want to scream whenever someone uses it as a barrier to getting something done. It is also insensitive to people who actually suffer with anxiety .

Cycling. Fine if they’re heading to work on an old bike with their lunch in a backpack and wearing hi-viz, instant turn-off if they’re wearing lycra and out in a pack doing 10mph whilst looking like they’re putting in enough effort for the Olympics.🤢

I quite like a beard when it's well kept and neatly groomed, but straggly pubey beards are just.... boak. Ugh. I've proper grossed myself out now.

So many of yours have struck a chord with me-

  1. long fingernails (or just as bad, long toe nails)
  2. Small appetite- I hadn’t thought about it but I agree! But also taking other people’s share of food.
