The thing that men do that is completely normal to most people, but gives you the ick?

Mine is men wearing long socks with shorts. I'm sorry I just can't

Small hands.

I used to think this until I had major surgery. I met my consultant afterwards and his hands were teeny tiny and I couldn’t help but marvel at how clever those very small hands were.

YouwouldthinkIhavemoresense · 29/03/2024 06:20

To add my tuppence worth: nose picking. In particular men whilst driving. And even worse, some even eat it 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤢

Then they touch their car .. steering wheel, gears etc. Not to mention shake peoples hands, eat food etc etc

To be fair, anyone who picks their nose, even children, gives me the ick.

It’s fucking grim.

SignoraVolpe · 29/03/2024 06:21

The way dh eats grapes or peanuts.
He puts his head back and drops them in like he’s some sort of Roman emperor.
I can’t watch.

CultOfRamen · 29/03/2024 06:22

Dustmans blow in the shower, gipping just writing it

BatshitCrazyWoman · 29/03/2024 06:23

In men, the following give me the ick - long hair. Long nails. Over pumped up muscles, just looks ridiculous to me, not at all attractive. Fake tan.

Using their index fingers to type on their phone instead of their thumbs

Lucky you can't see me now in that case! Can't hold the phone and use thumbs, maybe I need to become phone obsessed then it will be easier.

I dislike the concept that if you're not doing how I do it, you're doing it wrong. My personal dislike is how no-one seems to check for errors before sending, I've made 3 corrections so far, probably missed some.

People or partner crunching popcorn during the quiet bits in a film. Just wait for a loud part for gods sake !!

Anyone eating popcorn within 20m of me, vile stinking stuff!

Aethelthryth · 29/03/2024 06:36

Cheap formal shoes
Bad table manners

murphys · 29/03/2024 06:38

Like a pp, I'm a bit over men right now so everthing annoys me.

But I will leave a date if he chews food with his mouth open, chews gum with his mouth open, talks with food in his mouth or slurps any drink.

And that is just for starters.

Just yesterday I went someone and one chap was really good looking, seems pleasant enough.... And then he started typing on his pc keyboard. Bashing the living daylights out of the damn thing. I had to move as it was irritating me so badly. He was no longer good looking or seemed pleasant enough to me after that.

Sniffing
Snorting
Burping
Farting, esp if they think it's funny
Cracking their knuckles
Tapping fingers on any surface
Etc.
Im happy staying single.

It was a fucking Bentley btw. 😂

He sounds far more interesting than women rambling on about their sprogs!

People claiming to be "a bit OCD" about something.
No.... there's no "a bit OCD".
Obsessive compulsive disorder is a genuine recognised and diagnosed condition that can be completely debilitating to the people who suffer with it.
There isn't a month that goes by where I don't hear someone say they are a bit OCD about this or that. No. You like it done that way and have a preference. But if its not done that way... nothing happens to you. You might wrinkle your nose a bit and that's it.
If it were any other mental health condition you were claiming to have and essentially mocking or belittling then in this day and age you would be put in your place, but for some reason people are OK with saying it about OCD.

'A bit ocd' is usually code for seriously ocd though isnt it?

  • don't touch that Sarah a bit ocd about it = the last time someone touched that Sarah had a complete fit & broke down for days.

@Cactusleopard

its not 'mocking' or 'belittling' its people misunderstanding how serious OCD can be.

and for people it can be a lot more than just a liking or preference about the way things are done.

people used to be able to say 'a little OCD' and everyone knew what they meant, no harm done. Until it became offensive. I get that for people with full blown OCD feel it belittles their condition, but you are belittling their situation a lot more.

it needs its own name.

GLC789 · 29/03/2024 06:43

I can't sit next to DH in the morning while he eats his cereal 😂. The crunch 🤢.

So I sit the other end of the kitchen with my coffee 😂😂😂. Poor man has to get his breakfast in bless him! X

Women who can take a generic subject such as the title and twist it into 'what I hate about men'!

Women that literally in their first post ask you to think of ways to criticise men.

And cycling in lycra, with their little shiny, angry bottoms in the air.

Angry bottoms 😂😂😂😂😂

Thepossibility · 29/03/2024 06:53

The crunch crunch juicy swallow of DH eating cereal. Argh!
Also the massive noisy swallows when he's drinking coffee. Why is everything so loud?!

DrJoanAllenby · 29/03/2024 06:53

I love men but I don't like men who wear women's clothes and make up.

Men who wear nail polish.

I can't use my thumbs, it's bad enough with my index finger. It's not a failing, it's anatomy.

LunaNorth · 29/03/2024 06:57

Holding their fork/spoon overhand, elbow raised, shovelling food in like a toddler.

<looks at XH, looks away quickly>

Facial moles, saying brought instead of bought and should of/could of instead of should have/could have. 😡

comfyslippets · 29/03/2024 06:59

Men who see money on the floor in the street and pick it up

Everything. Literally everything. I'm so resigned from men, sex and relationships I can't think of a single scenario where something wouldn't irritate me about them sooner or later.

After yearning for a partner for the last twenty five years and going from one shit storm to another it's a relief to finally snap and not give a fuck anymore. I've found the one for me - me!!

Very freeing feeling 😀

Sounds like you are the problem 🙃 not the men.

Not normally. Last 2 times I heard it used it was

  1. Somone typing who missed a capital letter off a person's name as they went. I was sitting with them helping draft the email and I got "oh, hang on, let me go back and put a capital letter for his name. I'm a bit OCD about that". I mean, it's not OCD it's just basic grammar. And the 30 other spelling errors in your 2 short paragraphs mean you are going to go back and make corrections anyway.
  1. Somone who was washing their cutlery in the work sink. It was their own rather from the draw and they were going to be putting it back in their bag as soon as they were done. "Can I have the tea towel to dry my fork? I'm a bit OCD about it" like we thought they were going to put a dripping wet and soap covered fork straight into their bag.
