To go out in my Christmas pj bottoms

Would you go out for a dog walk in xmas pj pyjamas and coat over?
V busy few days with egg hunts for Dd, shopping, school things to organise etc
We’re on Easter holidays, it’s rainy on and off, cold and v windy, but my dog desperately needs to go out.
Would you throw a coat on and walk to the nearby green/woods (it’s two houses down and highly unlikely I will encounter anyone)

True. I don’t think “but you can’t see my fanny or my arse” is much of a dress code for life.

Sure, I wouldn't recommend it for a wedding or a Buckingham Palace tea party but OP is walking the dog not taking to the catwalk. Why does it bother you how stylish a dog walker looks?

Camellano · 03/04/2024 23:09

When I saw this thread pop up I thought it was someone commenting on my own dog walk over Easter Weekend! Whole house had a sickness bug but the dog still needed to be walked, so I took one for the team and out I went in my Xmas tree pjs, uggs and a coat over the top! There are times to put effort into your appearance and others where surviving is thriving. But please don’t take photographic evidence if you spot me 😂

StormingNorman · 03/04/2024 23:43

Not for me. If I don’t dress in the morning it sort of brings my mood down. But that’s a me problem not a you problem. I wouldn’t judge anyone for it.

SultanOfSwing · 03/04/2024 23:49

You are being unreasonable for not wearing bunny PJs

Allywill · 03/04/2024 23:59

No. What’s the point anyway - if it’s cold and raining on and off surely chances are you’d have to change them when you got back in - even more so walking a dog in the woods - chances of mud fairly high I would have thought. Might as well change before you go out. I have been known to get in the car in my pjs (with polar bears on so Christmas-like) with a coat over to give an unplanned lift but in those cases I was not getting out of the car.

No. Never.

ManchesterLu · 04/04/2024 00:06

Honestly, who cares? As long as you're covered up and not flashing anyone, who cares what's covering your body? It literally doesn't matter one bit what items of clothing you wear, at any time. I don't know why people think they can judge others for it.

Isittimeformynapyet · 04/04/2024 00:21

"I don't know why people think they can judge others for it."

I guess because the OP explicitly invited them to @ManchesterLu.

I don't have a problem with it myself though.

Jesus... You lot must think I'm a terrible mother then. My son just gets put in the pram in his pyjamas or sleepsuits when I'm nipping to the shops 😱😱

I cannot believe people are suggesting this is mad behaviour and acting as if it's a scummy thing to do. I must remember to put my pearls on before I take the bins to the end of the drive or Jackie from Mumsnet will be putting in for a welfare check 🙄

A baby in a sleep suit is in no way the same thing as a full grown woman who can’t be arsed to put her tracksuit bottoms on!

MaryBeardsShoes · 04/04/2024 13:13

YABU. Not because it’s lazy but because PJs aren’t suitable for dog walking. Just because people do it, doesn’t make it appropriate wear. In the time you’ve taken to post a thread about how you don’t care what other people think (YAWN) you could have put something suitable on.

🙄. Could you really be this dim?

2BabyOrNot2Baby · 04/04/2024 13:58

It's literally to walk the dog. It's not like she's going out for afternoon tea, is it? Why does it matter??
For all anyone knows, she could've been showering after she came home or anything, so what would be the point in getting a clean pair of bottoms dirty? As long as the dog is being walked and looked after, does it really matter what she's wearing??

No - i would never go out in Christmas PJ's (even if it was Christmas). Regardless of how busy i was/am!

Takes 30 seconds to change the bottoms to a pair of leggings and throw a coat on.

QuestionableMouse · 04/04/2024 14:07

I've just been to my sister's in pj's but it was a bit of an emergency because her washer was flooding her kitchen and she has hurt her back so couldn't bend to turn the stopcock off.

I don't sleep in my PJ's though, they're just for round the house.
